According to David James' article in today's Observer Matt Le Tissier made anti semitic joke in relation to spurs fans at the PFA awards dinner.

Anyone know what he said?

I think Matt is quite a good pundit on Soccer Saturday but this suggests otherwise. Matt, like myself, is from Guernsey and lets say racism isn't exactly discouraged in the island!!

So making an anti Jewish joke makes him a poor pundit?....Some strange reasoning there...Mind you, wouldn't trust anyone from the Chanel (sic) islands anyway....they're all closet frogs....:duh:

He's not the best pundit nor the worst - Sam Allerdyce needs a proper job fast to save us all from dying of boredom.

yea i agree big fat sam made le tiss look like alan hansen!

I think he is a piss poor pundit, he adds little to no knowledge about the game, tactically or otherwise and is not very likeable. As much as a hate Champagne Charlie he has a great knowledge about the game and is often unbiased and reads the footballing world very well. Merson is just a big clown and love having a laugh at him, same with Mcinally. Thomson is also very knowledgable. Le Tissier adds absolutely nothing and seems to love having a dig at spurs.

Funny as he was a spurs fan! WAS.

Had a look around for this and it doesn't seem to have been mentioned anywhere else. Rodney Marsh got sacked for racism by Sky, so really the same should happen to Le Tiss. And for some reason he hates us, twat!

He is a joke anyway. The only decent one on K.Y Sports is Kammy...for obvious comedic reasons.

Unbelievable, Jeff. It's hit the ref on the arse and ballooned over the keeper relegating the team to the rymen league - Arsene Wenger will be ripping his heart out. Let's hope he didn't see it. Ooohh....

Does he?

I've always thought he was a closet Spurs Fan. All this praise for being loyal to Southampton he gets, he was all set to move to us in the 90s before the deal collapsed due to the financial problems at the time of the Irving Skolar era. Or else he would've been a Spurs player for sure.

I have heard racist remarks about him - on one of those short lived satellite TV football phone-ins years ago - along the lines of "well, he's got a big nose, he'd fit right in at Spurs wouldn't he?

Le Tissier keeps reminding us that he was a Tottenham supporter as a boy. Note the "was". It really doesn't seem as if he likes us at all now. He always predicts we'll lose and never says anything but negative things about us.

Probably still bitter his big move collapsed, and he had to stay on the South Coast.

I read an interview with him where he said the move was all agreed, and that it was HE who changed his mind at the last minute and decided not to leave Southampton.

He actually signed for Spurs at one point, but the contract was cancelled by mutual consent due to his wife or something. Can't remember exactly why.

He was a great player, though.

What else would he say after having to go back?

Len Duquemin was the only decent player to come out of the CI's.

Sod the rest.
