Bonjour - good find and I stand corrected.

What I am still disappointed in though is why the 'replica' for Spurs doesn't have the 'double mesh' and the replica for Italy does.

I think there's still a valid point regarding the quality of our kits of late. I've not purchased one of this year's yet, but the kit for '06/'07 was unbelievably poor. I've seen better quality kits in the market in Thailand.

yeah I bought it, and I have to say I prefer last years. In all honesty the kits have been poor since Adidas dumped us

if people are willing to pay the price they have put, then its just syplying for demand, just liek ticket prices, we fill our ground so prices go up! simple really

want to lower the prices? then dont buy one and hope others do the same...

Who cares about the cost of a new kit. Given that my season tickets gone up by £120 this year (west lower) I'm not going to buy one anyway. In fact, probably won't renew at all. 14.9% more, given that the second half of this season has been redundant and we didn't bother playing for the first 10 games of the season, I should be getting a rebate not shelling out more and definately not spending on more poor quality kits.

Next thing they'll say that to get a season ticket you'll need to purchase the opus. Disgusting :bang:

Forget the kit con, what about the season ticket renewal con. Mine has gone up £71. Unbelievable.

mate it's all about demand, our kit is in demand and puma or the club being the only producers can increase the prices as they wish, if the demand is low no one will buy it at a high price but if the demand is high they can raise prices assured that the kit will be bought.

Not being funny, but if you don't want it, pass it on. There's a queue behind you. It's what gives THFC the confidence to do what they do. That, and the fact that there's a stadium to contribute towards.

Are some of you lot playing stupid, or do you just not have any grasp on how things work at all?

Can't afford the shirt? Don't buy it. Want it so bad that you'll get it anyways? --> proves price is right.

THFC aren't making and selling shirts as charity, it is to make money. I just can't see how you can possible fail to understand that. Whatever price calculated to give the highest profit is the price you'll see on the tag.

And haven't the real cost of purchasing a shirt gone down? They've been the same for some seasons?

Don't want your season ticket as you think it's too expensive? Give it to me, I'll bite your hand off.

I dont understand people its barley a con. You dont have to buy anything!!!, also when I buy a kit I treat it like an investment to the club, for at the end of the day buy buying kits we are helping spurs. I dont care if the cost £100 as long as its helping spurs (ofcourse I wouldnt buy it!!) Okay your mostly helping Puma but still....

I don't think it's so much an issue of the price of the shirt as the quality of shirt that is being produced for the money tbh.

Hang on a sec. There's a lot of nonsense being spouted in this thread.

Is the pricing at football a concern? Of course it is. And if traditional fans are priced out (which a number of people in this thread have suggested shouldn't be a worry - because there's always someone to buy the ticket) what happens?

Well, for a start the atmosphere gets more rubbish. And loyalty dips - because all of a sudden going to a game is a special occasion rather that a fortnightly activty because tradiitional supporters can't afford it. And we turn into a prawn sandwich brigade. And, basically, forums like this get over run with more and more opinions of people that haven't a clue - as they've seen us play live once in the last three years - rather than the current level of people like that that you can just ignore.

But that's great; let's put the prices up to the extent that following Spurs - be it buying tickets or shirts or whatever - is the preserve of people that send their kids to Haberdashers as that's what the market will bear rather than trying to make the club accessible to people that have followed it through thick and thin over the last 22 years (or more; but 22 chosen deliberately).

But of course, you're not included in that, right? Your opinion counts over these other clueless people for some reason?

It kills me to say it, but you're right. I would literally bite someone's hand off for a season ticket - bit of Tommy K, tastes just like chicken.

As for the shirts, I bought a retro Seventies one a while back and that'll do me for the foreseeable future. I used to buy every season's when I was in my teens, but the nearer I get to 30, I can't justify the expense.

That season ticket on the other hand…

It's expensive to be a football fan these days (it's a business, blah blah etc)...

The average price for say a father of two to pop along to the game with his sons, buy the kits, etc is enough to bankrupt a man... almost...

Then, the sons start playing football themselves in the Saturday and Sunday youth leagues and have to shell out an absolute fortune on club fees, match fees etc, largely because of the extortionate costs grass roots clubs have to pay to have a field to play on...

Sometimes I think the people at the top hope for a housing estate country with kids indoors playing their playstations.

Anyway, that's another topic entirely.

Its a tuff situation and i can see both sides to the argument but you can't lay the blame at spurs door. In regards to the season tickets, they are a business and only have a certain number of seats they can sell, so need to maximise the profit they make from these. While demand is currently way above what they are able to supply expect this to continue every year until we either have a new stadium or no waiting list for season tickets.

I feel sorry for the families that can't afford to go, but whats the other option ?

My point exactly!

Actually, I was really pissed when I wrote that. I'm not normally such an arrogant twat.

My point about the pricing stands though.

I am west lower block 15 and I have the same problem, I don't think I can afford it really (not so much the season ticket, but cat A games will now be c.£70 each on top) so I am going to have to request a move.
