NBC's "To Dare Is To Do" Documentary

Apart from the cringiness of the doc, I did enjoy it. Especially the part where the architect spoke about Levy's insistence on having the fans as close as possible to the pitch, the idea of the steep North stand has me in goosebumps. Can't wait to sit there.

    Team v Stoke

I agree with most posts on the inadequacy of Davies at wingback, however he does have experience in a back 3 for Wales. I'd go for this. Lloris Dier Aldervierweld Davies Walker Wanyama Winks Vertonghen Eriksen Dele...

    3 -5 -2 anyone?

I'm aware that AVB prefers 433 or 4231 with wingers that cut inside but what about this type of formation where the wing-backs can give us some width and still have players like Lamela. ------------Lloris---------- ----Kaboul--- Vlad----- Jan Walker-- Sandro-- Paulinho-- Rose/Townsend...

    Popescu jailed for 'football irregularities'

he played under Ardiles and then left when Gerry Francis came in, I remember reading that he didn't like football under Francis as he just used to watch the ball going over his head all the time. He preferred the free-flowing football of Ossie.

What do we do for a left back against Fulham?

Didn't Walker play left-back for Sheffield? Therefore leaving Bale on the wing, and smith at right-back!

    Moneyball and Spurs

I've just recently seen the film Moneyball with Brad Pitt, for those who haven't watched it the film it is about a former baseball player called Billy Beane. He becomes General Manager of Oakland A's and seeing that his team had little money he started using sabermetrics (using statistics and...

    Rafa "annoyed"

We should qualify from the group stages and then we can add him to the squad as 3 new players are allowed.

    Harry Kane- England U19s

I saw the game between England and Spain u-19's yesterday and his goal was a poacher's goal, England started with a 4-4-2 and then reverted to a 4-5-1, kane played as a winger in the second formation but it was hard to comment on him as Spain controlled the game. England were really poor, but...

    Bale + Lennon = 3 assists

Crouch has the highest assists in the team if i'm not mistaken, most of which are knock-downs to VDV, but they don't mention who crossed the ball to him in the first place.

    Redknapp's Record With Forwards

Some of those signings have been terrible but pre-Harry, we had some terrible forwards too e.g Doherty, Rebrov, Paul Stewert (who became a midfielder) etc. Plus other managers have made bad signings as well, Looking at Dzeko for 45m is awful

    Sandro - I don't fear Madrid

I think Harry has managed him well by easing him into the team and not expecting him to be brilliant from the beginning, it takes time to settle and learn the way the team play for a young player from a different league.

    Our Pitch

Clubs with bad pitches should definately be fined and they deteriorate the game. I honestly think Modric and co would beat teams like Blackpool/Wolves if they had a decent playing surface, we would just pass them off the park. I guess they play to their strengths.

Dos Santos to Zaragoza/What barcelona thought of him!

I've just read in one of the spanish papers that he will go on loan to Zaragoza in January and team up with the mexican manager Javier Aguirre (who managed him at the world cup), there are quotes from Aguirre. i think that's probably the best move for him and hopefully he can pull in some...

They bring on Drogba. We bring on Crouch!

Defoe did really well considering he was asked to drop into midfield and link the play, Harry knew they would double on bale soBale pulled Ferrera with him and defoe exploited the space behind the right-back which lead to the goal, when crouch came on we couldn't do this until keane caME ON AND...

    Back Four

It wasn't just dawson last season but the back four were well protected by Palacios who gave us that bite in midfield as good as jenas and Hudd are they don't offer the same aggresiveness. Just hope he can find some kind of form.
