Don't really disagree with many of the names already mentioned but personally wouldn't mind Matt Doherty being added. Proven himself to be a reliable RWB and also dangerous in the opponent's box from set pieces and breaks, gets a few goals too. His extra height could be advantageous to our...
Sorry thought it was obvious, Spurs v AN Other followed by an NFL game or vice versa but as most NFL games take about 3-4 hours start to finish to allow for tv commercials etc, I assume the Spurs game would be timetabled first.
In the NBC Sports documentary mentioned in other threads, the NFL Chief Executive hinted that for the official opening Levy is interested in back to back games happening, in effect a whole day event. Personally would love that.
I would like to think we have more than one priority. LB is certainly one but equally I hope signing a creative AM is another.
Talking about LBs - not sure why we didn't go for the Dutch guy van Anholt. Good attacking LWB who gets a few goals and EPL experience.
Thanks for that. Seems we must be of similar age as that's the Youth Team I grew up watching, I was at that game too and the return leg at Highbury. I think all those players graduated to the reserves where again I was a regular watcher. Used to love watching Hoddle and McNab and Stuart Beavon...
With Onomah I think he should be watching and studying Pogba. I'm not saying he'll ever reach that level but just that he needs to add more to his game especially his spatial awareness, anticipation and decision making. He's not going to improve quickly enough for most if he stays on the...
Watched the whole England game live and have to agree with the comments about Onomah. Must say I wasn't that impressed with Chelsea's so called wonderkids either nor Ojo from Liverpool.
They might be all very good technically but seem to lack a lot in simple football nous. Slow to react, poor...
AZ sporting director has apparently announced that apart from the first bid which was rejected there has been no further contact with Spurs!
Who do we believe?
All you "experts" on here seemed to have missed the main reason why most of our players go backwards and sideways which is the often poor movement ahead of them. At one point Vertonghen was bring the ball out and not for the first time stopped and held out an arm to say "where are my options"...
Not sure exactly what the FA do by way of training new coaches. Perhaps they farm them out to various Academies to learn the practical side of the job and to gain experience working alongside experienced coaches?
Interesting to see that the job titles of Gibbs, Allpress and Cochrane are Head of Coach & Player Development. That suggests to me that their jobs include developing the coaches of other clubs who maybe want to try to mimic our Academy and probably also helping new coaches attain their badges...
Not meant as a criticism but more an observation from today's game that in the 2H he disappeared somewhat not helped by the fact the Ref decided to stop us pressing by giving the gooners freekicks every time they lost possession. Ended up with them swarming our players knowing the Ref was...
Suffice to say Brazil were generally a yard faster, stronger and smarter than our boys.
First time I've seen Edwards and can see he needs to be playing with more intelligent players than were on show tonight. The game by passed him too much but the fact that he never received quick ball and...
That goal had been coming mainly due to the number of mistakes our defenders had been making. Bit harsh on Sterling though as he had a right to challenge for the ball.
Looks to me England are struggling with Brazil's pressing game. England boys are having to do everything at a much quicker pace and some of them seem to not have the quickness of thought or control. Brazil's off the ball movement is far superior at the moment.
