No, he got to the Inter level and won Serie A. Who's to say he wouldn't have gone onto have a similar legacy as Modric, if he hadn't actually died on the football pitch.
I find it amusing, almost, that this narrative about Eriksen continues to get regurgitated when he was our best presser.
I absolutely love Maddison, but if he manages half of what Eriksen did with us, he'll be doing well. Eriksen is up there with Modric as one of the best I've seen at Spurs.
