    The race for the title

I could see us slipping up against weaker teams who park the bus. Our preferred style is much better suited to the best teams who like hording possession.

    The race for the title

Very. very early days, but bloody hell we're playing well at the moment aren't we?! Surely that was one of the best performances off the ball the PL has seen. Immense. Our weakness (although it seems churlish to talk of them after such a performance), is possibly passing in the final third...

Best Spurs Squad In Years... What's Missing?

Granted Berbatov played very well for us, but Klinsmann was one of the best strikers in the world during the early and mid 90s. There's no comparison.

Attracting players: Success, Wages, Manager, Stadium, Location, History, Potential

And we won't be big payers while having to pay for the new stadium and while Lewis looks to keep other costs down ahead of a sale. But, we can continue to buy younger, promising but unproven players with someone as good as poch managing the team.

Best Spurs Squad In Years... What's Missing?

Searing pace at AM and SC and Verts isn't quite as consistent as he was a couple of years ago. There are always ways to improve.

    Player Watch : Vincent Janssen

Yep, Janssen is the real deal. Just needs to vary his play a bit and be aware when and where to make his runs. All very coachable. Technically, he looks good. Tactically, not quite yet but he's in the right place to learn. Kane's injury was badly timed though.

    Team for City...

Dembele, Eriksen and Janssen will all definitely play if fit. As will Son and probably Dier despite Wanyama's form. Lamela and Wanyama on the bench.

    Ticket price shenanigans & Spurs.

Match day and season ticket prices have been frozen for two years now, haven't they? Reckon the Board was planning to increase them for next season, but this campaign might make them think twice (PR exercise or genuinely listening to the fans, depending on your perspective). But I'd have...

    Tottenham Vs Watford: Match Thread

Doubt poch will make any changes yet. Alli and Son will have more impact coming on after 60-70.

    Team versus Watford?

Switching to three at the back is a good challenge for the players too, that I think they'll rise to. Should ward off complacency and help them focus.

    Team versus Watford?

Watford play more long balls than any other team in the league, especially away from home, and there's a good reason for that - Igahlo and Deeney. They'll also target Wimmer (who I'm not yet convinced about) so I'd be inclined to play three at the back as we did against them before. I know we're...

    Team for Norwich...

Lamela will always have the advantage that he's left footed and fits perfectly as a right-sided inverted winger. The other side of the pitch is a lot more competitive: Eriksen, Chadli, Son and Pritchard. Of course Poch does mix it up a little (and I reckon will pick Eriksen or Chadli on the...

    Team for Norwich...

FWIW, I reckon Norwich will give us a real game. We've had it too easy against Norwich in recent years and it will be difficult to guard against complacency. Naismith is a good signing too. Norwich really should have beaten Liverpool a couple of weekends ago.

    Team for Norwich...

Can only guess how tired/fresh the players are feeling, but I reckon Poch will play: Lloris Walker, Alderweireld, Dier, Rose Dembele, Bentaleb Eriksen, Alli, Chadli Kane Wimmer is less proven than Dier and for an important away game in the Prem, I'd expect Poch to favour Dier. I reckon...

    Alex Pritchard

I'm sure Chadli and Son quite fancy Eriksen's spot too. We're extremely competitive at left AM, but could do with more competition on the right

    Alex Pritchard

But not from a cardio perspective. And yes, he might be used to being kicked in the air, but lower league footballers aren't as strong as their Prem counterparts. One of the most striking things about the Colchester game was how much their players looked like a pub team (flabby and weak)...

    Alex Pritchard

No need for a full body transplant or to get on a treadmill, actually. Some of those physical changes will happen naturally as he gets more top flight experience, but I reckon a little more focus on them is required as well, particularly to break into a Pochettino team.

    Alex Pritchard

Pritchard is a real prospect and, if we weren't stacked for AMs, would probably be in our first team already, but I reckon he does need to get a little faster, stronger and fitter. Lose a couple of kilos of fat, put on a kilo or two of muscle and most importantly work on his game specific...
