Sorry I got that part wrong. But he is currently 31 in England and 30 in Korea, not 32 and 31 respectively, and simply isn't 32 yet. Like people kept doing with Kane, there seems to be a rush for him to get old and decline before his time.

No. The "old system" is the international standard (number of full years since birth), which puts him at 31. The new Korean system is number of years since conception, which puts him at 30. His DOB is 08/07/1992, so he is currently 31 and will turn 32 this summer.

When we counter, we don't pick out his runs often enough or early enough. After his first couple of games, I was optimistic that would change as his new teammates get used to him, but it hasn't so far. When we come against a low block, he doesn't seem to offer anything that our other options...

You've made me wish that's what I'd meant, but in Korea he's only 30.

Player Watch Player Watch: Son Heung-min

Are you implying that sacking our manager midway through a rebuild, replacing our top scorer with Solanke, and hammering a 22-year-old defender for his one poor performance of the season isn't the right response to today's performance? Everyone else on SC disagrees, so you must be wrong...

    Corrected for you. ;)

    Match Threads Newcastle vs Spurs

On average, they've worked better for us than Conte or Mourinho's tactics have, and better than Poch's tactics worked during his last year with us (when he changed the system a bit).

Or, being a bit less trigger happy, perhaps we should hire a set piece coach to work alongside our existing coaches.

Ok, let's not bother marking Newcastle's biggest aerial threat. :banghead:

I love Son, but he was repeatedly caught in possession when we had lots of support around him, leaving us open to the counter. One of his worst performances for us.

The ref only got in Maddison's way twice during that passage of play.

Yes. I like McCoist, but it's not the first comment he's made that's left me exasperrated today.

In the first half, at times it looked like a half-hearted attempt from us to play on the break, but by not full ycommitting to it we actually left ourselves open to the counter.

Not spoiler - Johnson did miss, after choosing not to pass to a teammate who was in a better position.

But only very marginally worse than the high foot on Bentancur imo.

    Conor Gallagher

Larsson was a two-month loan deal, during his parent club's off-season (similar to Beckham's short-term loans during the MLS off-season). He had won the Champions League + La Liga with Barcelona only 6 months earlier, featuring regularly for them, so wasn't out of form / returning from a...

    Conor Gallagher

I'm in no rush for him to be pushed out the door, but I feel bad for him playing so little. He seems to be a very likeable guy with strong commitment and affinity to the club, but staying here doesn't seem to be the best thing for his career. He was a standout player in the Championship during...

Even if Barkley was good enough for us (I'm far from convinced), he would be a very short-term signing. We're building a squad to be competitive in the medium term. It's no coincidence that every single signing under Ange has been of an age where their best years a likely to be ahead of them...

I think this season has been the (beginning of the) end for Skipp. After starting the first game of the season, he was limited to only brief and sporadic substitute appearances, and only got another start (4+ months later) when we were missing all of Bissouma, Bentancur & Maddison...

New date for Manchester City (H)

Sods law, he'd put in the performance of a lifetime - helping Arsenal to the title and earning himself another chance with us in the process. 😅
