Like managers before, at spurs, we haven't always shown much patience with players either. Sometimes we've not given talented players a chance to fit in. On the flip side, we've persisted with average players that will never click for too long.
We've let some highly talented players leave our...
I agree with your point and hope Lloris does so as well ;)
But, sorry for derailing the topic here but I read somewhere that Spurs wanted permission to change the stadium plans and increase the capacity to 61,000....
Well if Levy is involved in the design and negotiation process, he'll be...
What annoys me is these two were pretty close to being obtainable... yes, Southampton blocked the Schneiderlin move but if we'd upped the price they could have been tempted as would any club without a multi-billionaire in charge.
But now, they are out of price range and looking to clubs with...
Nice post!
Especially with the inclusion of Simon Davies (great player back in the day), Robbo (fantastic player until he lost his confidence) and Tainio (class player but bought at a time when we started collecting central midfielders for fun).
Oops that was supposed to be a slight edit. My bad
Ultimately, the United drubbing was embarrassing and irritating as they have been a bore all season but I personally think our squad has more potential than theirs and it was a bad day at the office imo.
I think we've had a good season so far. Cup final, last 32 of Europa and still challenging (although maybe drifting out of sight) for top 4 in the first season under a new coach, blooding in our youngsters and with almost the same squad as last season.
I think there are more positives than...
What a load of bollocks. Whilst i agree the defence is a bit leaky and needs addressing if we are pressing for Top 4 either this season or next.
I for one would not trade fluid attacking football for a 1-nil win. Saw too many under AvB and one of the many reasons I avoid watching Van Gaal's...
Not sure what Paulinho offers to our team, even as a substitute, at the moment.
Maybe Poch is assessing him, maybe he's training better than others like Dembele to get the nod but it still baffles me. Nowhere near the player he used to be and i'm not that player will return any time soon...
Unfortunately, I am too young to remember the true greats of Spurs folk lore like the Blanchflowers, Jennings, Greaves and even Gazza.
Therefore, my choice as a possible great will be a more recent and possibly controversial one - the Irish cart-wheeler himself - Robbie Keane
:cautious:
Firstly, yes - Les Reed was appointed in 2009/10
Secondly, I wasn't saying that Reed was wholly responsible for scouting the young players we see today as I imagine that was the scout's job role.
My point is that, I believe, the fixed European structure at Soton with Les Reed at the helm since...
I agree that a manager will need some familiar faces within his backroom staff as those working relationships have been built and they directly impact (in theory) the on-field performances.
However, I think it's the instability of the other positions influenced by the changes in structure such...
Agreed, it's all about business for him. However, the constant tinkering of the structure of the club from European to traditional back to European has impacted on stability.
I was reading an article about Paul Mitchell (if you're interested -...
