Phillips and Devine benched again, but hasn't worked too well. Stoke 2 up at half time.
Devine has come on for 2nd half though.
All in all good loan for both of them I think, but a shame the manager got sacked at Plymouth as Phillips was a regular before that.
Might be a good thing given some of the performances from certain players. Son and midfield players in particular, although would like Son back on the left if Richy is back fit.
Agreed. For all the moaning on tactics, ultimately our CBs have been awful who usually are 2 of our strongest in the team.
Also Son has been way off. Lost the ball nearly every attack and allowed Newcastle to prosper on the counter.
Players need to stand up. Way to many poor performances...
I would say Udogie was more at fault, but he could have done more
He started fairly well, thought he was going to build on the West Ham game, but he faded quickly. It was right call to sub him.
I still have hope for him longer term though. Both at Brighton and early this season, but also...
100% this. He used to have it too at Leipzig (1st spell)
He is a danger, he has pace, gets the ball into the box and plenty of good runs off the ball. He caused Williams all sorts of problems today.
What he needs now is the killer instinct in front of goal.
A few at fault for that. Udogie's lack of tracking left an open man.
Bissouma played well against West Ham, disappointed to see him drop more and more today. It was right call to sub him.
Werner gave Williams are torrid evening.
Much better from him today. Got in behind the defence and got a number of useful crosses in.
Still as a team we can be more aggressive and confident in our shooting, but much improved 2nd half. Shout out to Hojbjergs early effort too.
Just needs to get his confidence back.
He seems to delay passing a lot and doesn't take option of hitting it first time.
He came on and immediately pressed well, but in atta k his confidence is shot. Gotta get behind him and hopefully see him back to his best soon. For now though I think...
