But Sarr is best in the Bentancur role,
and Gallagher is best in the Bentancur role,
and Skipp is best in the Bentancur role.
It's a strong midfield group but I think someone whose natural role more closely matches Bissouma or Maddison (preference for Bissouma) would make more sense.
I don't understand that Deki criticism today. He's brought the ball into dangerous areas, got his head up, found nothing and turned it into a corner or a speculative shot. I've been much more disappointed in Richarlison's runs, positioning, touch, passing, and behaviour.
Indeed, since the days of offloading to Hull, etc. wages have gone up substantially, pricing our excess out of moves out regardless of our asking price.
All in all an encouraging start. Very impressive debuts from Udogie and Van de Ven, while Madisson was absolutely tremendous. It's hard not to salivate at the thought of a fully fit and firing Bentancur joining this midfield as Bissouma was great as well. Those three just complement each...
Your want to scrap the system after 45 minutes where we aren't even behind? Stick with the plan. It may take minutes, days, weeks, months but stick with it or there was no point bringing in Ange.
This is (another reason) why the Phillips pick up and Devine before him are so crucial. It's not immediate but will allow us to organically dig out of this hole by bringing in one or two a year with such promise.
Don't disagree with the sentiment but the thought process ignores that it leaves Maddison and Skipp potentially as the only home grown options long term. We need immediate improvement but I think a HG option instead of Van de Ven might be necessary as well as a HG option (ie Scott) at CM...
Not completely sold on Manor being a long term success here but still think this is a solid addition. Succession planning for Son is needed and am not convinced he is that but there is so much else to do this window that I am happy with this. It addresses the immediate need for rotation with...
Agreed but that would be good business. Gives us a solid partnership with great potential for the future without European mid week games requiring lots of rotation. Bring in another next summer like Tosin and we're set for awhile until time to integrate some youth.
My guess is the power of first impressions. Have a good showing your first 3 games and the supporters make up their mind. Then when the next 60 are poor there are excuses right and left. Heaven forbid you have a rough start, especially when you come in with high expectations, though.
Surely the decision of Conte out tomorrow or at the end of the season should be a result of the question of who replaces him? Make that decision on a 3-5 year horizon. If the answer is immediately available cut him loose, the last 10 could be a huge advantage to assessing the squad and hitting...
This to me is the crux and just completely unacceptable. Having a coherent philosophy tied to a long term plan is not just a football thing, it's not even unique to sport. For all his myriad faults, Levy is purported to at least be a competent businessman. There is no industry where this...
Absolutely agree that we need to pick a cuisine. So many of the issues the club have created for themselves in the past decade are tied to the seemingly reactive was decisions have been made. Appointments of managers and staff and player recruitment has had no continuous unifying theme which...
