So I think you’ve misunderstood me, I agree that purely as a striker, he is one of the best in the world. But that view doesn’t take in the context of the situation. He has one year left on his contract and, not for the first time, he has made it clear to another club he wishes to play for them...
He probably is. My point isn’t whether he is objectively better than us or not. The point is he thinks he is and in a position of leadership once he thinks that and doesn’t want to be there it’s not going to be great for morale.
I actually think we’d be better without him. The caveat being I probably think that out of forced acceptance but the whole saga feels like a British mannered version of Ronaldo/Man Utd.
He clearly thinks, and has thought since at least the City shambles, that he is better than to play for...
I was thinking from a PSG perspective, why would they want him? Even if (big if) they got him playing to his potential, they’d have 4 outfield players who are completely redundant when PSG don’t have the ball. That might be fine against Ligue 1 teams but since they are obsessed with winning the...
There seems to be an assumption that Levy either backs Conte or he doesn’t like this is binary and not a word that can be interpreted differently.
Conte has felt like he has not been backed by the chairman at every club he has managed.
Arguably Levy probably feels he has backed every manager he...
I seem to be in a slight minority here but I was really encouraged by yesterday’s game. I thought there were a lot more positives than negatives to take away.
I haven’t watched that many live games this season so perhaps I am unburdened by bias of watching the turgid performances by certain...
And who, may I ask, told City the offer would be accepted?
Charlie fucking Kane!
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain
I am surprised that so many of you seem to think Levy’s ‘plan’ was more than “let’s choose the cheapest candidate who wants the job and hope for the best”.
I think one of the most concerning things about this window, which shouldn’t be overlooked, is that there were quite a few players we were after (Kounde, Pau etc) who didn’t want to come to us because we couldn’t offer CL football.
Whilst I completely agree he is wasting his obvious talent, that is his choice to make. By all accounts he is holding his side of his contract up (turning up to training, would play if selected etc). No one forced Spurs to sign him on a lengthy contract for £200k a week. Likewise no one forced...
People have such short memories, need I remind you of a certain french midfielder; brown mop top hair, dazzling feet, a hit with the ladies and former PSG player?
Benjamin Stambouli, of course.
I like the fact he unnecessarily clarified that this was only a metaphorical d-day and we should not, in fact, prepare to storm the beaches of Normandy.
I have to say though, the past 2 years I was becoming increasingly apathetic to all things football. The unceremonious sacking of Poch, the Mourinho appointment. The subsequent turgid football that followed, the attempted furloughing of staff, then the Super Leage debacle and firing off Mourinho...
I won a competition as a junior Spurs member (a poetry one I I remember correctly) and I got to watch a training session and have a meet and greet with the players afterwards. Him and Stefan Freund were the only players who stayed and had an actual conversation with me and my dad. Most signed my...
I’m sorry, and perhaps this says more about my Sherwood-like mentality to football tactics, but are we all just pretending that a ‘medium block’ is an actual footballing football tactic, in football?
Serge is caught out of position, panics and rushes back, hacking down little Jimmy in the box. They convert the penalty and get through to the next round.
Little Jimmy needs to use a scribe to transcribe for his SATs due to screws he’s had to have in right wrist.
We’ve been here before!
There’s a sadistic part of me that would really enjoy us knocking seven bells out of a Orient under 13s side...
then there’s my spurs anxiety worried that we might lose.
