Wow reading this thread makes me depressed. I'm currently in Africa having come from the Caribbean and I'm a white briton married to a Brazilian who has black, Portuguese, native and god knows what else in her ancestry. I'm friends with over 20 nationalties and fully aware that prejudice is real...
i find it interesting that we're getting rid of a few 'duds' this window. more realistic transfer fees or a hotter market at the moment? doesnt seem to many proven players available to the lesser teams at lowish fees any more
We made a few bets on players and ended up with eriksen, who if he leaves this window will probably cost more than bale did..
You've got to take a few risks on signing players if you want to get quality in!
So if you crunch the numbers, that's £2.3m a week, or £100k average for the 23 players in the first team squad (this excludes Pau Lopez and the 3 players out on loan Fazio, Njie and Bentaleb).
Doesn't sound too bad to me, especially when you consider that in that 23 there are players like...
Ah of course better get back in my box then. Haven't been around long enough to see how insulting people encourages a worthwhile conversation... Thought this forum was for swapping opinions not personal insults.
Personally am torn... Clearly there's no value at the moment in the market and no decent striker should sign for us to be behind kane when we play one up front . We've signed wide forwards who can play in the centre and all going well that's perfect. But if kane gets injured and they fuck it...
It's called negotiation! Seriously have you ever done a deal? Deadlines are for working out what people can live with. Clearly he wasn't for sale for what we were offering. Sh*t happens but we'd better hope son comes good :-)
Who cares about ade. I'm gutted it worked out like this but he's a big boy now and he made his decisions. You can't build team spirit when a couple of players get away with being dicks. Spurs want to be a club that won't tolerate poor behaviour so he's out. Don't blame poch for that there's a...
To me it's a case of signing someone who can provide competition / backup to Lamela and Chadli, but who can also play up front too. Definitely big money, but HAS to be flexible. That's the perfect compromise if you ask me. If it all goes tits up injury wise then we have Lamela and Townsend on...
It's obvious what he brings to the team - if you look at this compilation of his play in a Spurs shirt you can clearly see he possesses the ability to carve teams open with his dribbling or by picking a pass. There aren't many players who can do it and he reminds me of Neymar sometimes when he...
Once he's gone, the Argentine takeover will be complete. Ship out Sandro and Gomes, never play Paulinho... Well I for one am so glad that Lamela and Fazio are singlehandedly rescuing our season! ;)
It's very simple - the last player we signed who wasn't played despite being obviously better than the incumbent was Lloris, and he's been a great success... Davies the world beater!
thing is, would you want Dembele in your team if you were spurs manager? What does he add? A skilful player who will make the difference in a lower half team imo.
"We know where we have to improve, the Club also knows and there is a feeling and a confident connection between the Club and the players.”
clearly expecting some decent signings then!
