You need to read it properly, it doesn't say Ellis sacked O'Neill, it says who were villa's managers during his time as chairman.
I will tell you again( and hope it sinks in), Ellis sold up to Lerner in 2006, O'Neill walked out on villa in 2010. Ellis did not sack O'Neill.
It doesn't say that at all, O'Neill was the last manager Ellis appointed in 2006 before selling out to Lerner. O'Neill wasn't sacked, he walked out just before the season started.
O'Neill was appointed in 2006, Ellis sold to Lerner in 2006. I really don't think what O'Neill spent in the short time Ellis was his chairman 12 years ago can be blamed for their current predicament.
Let me make one thing clear, i don't particularly like O'Neill ( think he is very overrated), i just personally believe when clubs spend way more than they can afford the bulk of the responsibility must lie with the owner/ chairman.
Either way, it's Villa's problem not ours and if we can exploit...
Who signed the cheques?
O'Neill is a manager, they always want more/ better players. It's up to the owner to say we can't do this we can't afford it.
Lerner with full access to the financial situation bares more responsibility than O'Neill.
You don't have to be well informed enough about their...
What a load of cobblers, O'Neill left Villa in 2010, since then Houllier, McLeish, Lambert, Sherwood and Garde ( correct me if i have missed anyone else) have all had a go and wasted money. To say a manager who left 8 years ago is to blame for a large part of their current predicament is...
Can honestly say i have never seen this lad play, or know anything about him. But at the prices being talked about it seems a no brainer to me. German u21 international (so must be half decent) for peanuts.
I know the market is crazy at the moment but surely Everton realise they won't get £50m for a player with 12 months left on his contract. It's not as if Barkley ripped it up last season (or the one before that) to justify that. He doesn't even play in a position we are desperate to strengthen...
Don't care about net spends, the only thing that matters is improving the team. If selling Walker does that then great. However we need to up our game when it comes to incomings. We can't be wasting money on dross like Sissoko again. Only Wanyama was a success from last summer, we need more than...
A great game we unluckily lost, can people not accept that's football/sport without looking for scapegoats, we may have lost this match but i couldn't be prouder of the performance in what has been a tough couple of days for everyone around the club.
