Good teams don't do exciting/chaotic transfer. They just buy a particular choice player every now and then. Better we entertain on the pitch, than in our HR processes
Poch is just trimming the squad to his preferred 22 + kids.
Future windows will probably be more 1 out, 1 in; or 1 out, youth promoted. But we won't have to shift anything like the 13-15 we have this summer again. I guess that's the consequence of having 4 very different managers in 3 years...
Remember Bentaleb, Mason, Pritchard, Alli, Winks and Onomah have all come through since Carroll was the great white hope 3-4 years ago.
It's a really good thing that he's being eclipsed by better younger homegrown players. That's how the production line is meant to work.
I'm really liking this. With 5 more looking like leaving (Ade, Soldado, Lennon, Fazio and Carroll), it really does look like Poch is going for a Mourinho-style tight 22 man squad.
For me I think it's time to for Carroll to move on (he's not young anymore) and us to give Winks and Onomah a...
Yes - I think the plan might have been to give Wimmer an EPL loan next season and keep Fazio as one of the 4. But perhaps Wimmer has impressed sufficiently in pre-season?
Either that, or while the club would like to keep him, Fazio is (admirably) seeking a move in search of football?
Fazio and Stambouli were signed because Dawson and Sandro were ruined (by age and injury respectively). We brought them in at no net cost, and now we have upgraded to Alder and TBC, we can move them on.
I imagine we want 4 players - Kane, Chadli, Nigel and Berahino for 2 spots - CF and LWF.
You'd imagine Nigel would be 4th in that pecking order.
So effectively he'll be our forward equivalent of Wimmer.
Yeah - Martial and Ings were presumably higher up the list at the start of the summer, as we moved for them first? Berahino only came into the picture after he sacked his agent.
