Negredo was at Man City, and a good forward player, but was in a squad Mankini had to rotate due to the quality...and incoming top money players only they (a UK Club) could buy and pay salaries for. he got disillusioned i think.
Just a thought.. Spurs qualify for CL by wining Euro League. That means our 4th place in PL would go to Euro League ? and one place down the Table... Anyone know?
Negredo is a very good player, but age 30? too old for Poch now in the way spurs squad is set up to play high pressure, with academy players coming through. Still on a one yr contract could be what we need support for Harry and in Euro Games so we can win this sliverware and qualify for CL.
As with all of Poch's signings, they don't get straight into the team.. Son excepted. Yedlin is young and has to learn defensive play, and improve from MLS level of football to Premiership top 5, and get better from there. That's why Jurgen K recommended spurs for him
Some have said do not talk about our CL qualification, just take it or not at season end... I would say.. remember Bill Nick words about aiming high and failing is better than aiming low and succeeding... COYS
Good spurs performance. But.. where was dier, as RDMF at the ozil cross to far post? Walker was covering too much space, and got caught out by Gibbs. Rose needs to be more aware, can't give away corners like he does, or we will concede goals. Erickson seemed to fade second half.. Dembele...
Lamela has ability, just needs to be working on his legs and ball control at speed. Also as his Rabona goal showed he can do the unexpected, and this is what he needs to build on, as defenders will be unsure and commit to either a foul / bring him down freekick edge of box, (CE to take) or a...
Of course I'm optimistic.. as I have been a spurs supporter since mid sixties !! been waiting for us to be financially viable to challenge Man Utd. with their 74k seat stadium, and have a top quality team that has been nurtured from academy days and added to with top players. as an example...
Another c**p story... Harry would have no problem to turn down going to BM easy.. Levy will not sell anyway, and Poch would want to keep Harry..He's happy at spurs ..Our new stadium will make US one of the top teams in the world 2 years after completion...
THFC is now going in the different direction Levy stated when sacked Harry... Poch got us continued Euro. League (5th place) and League Cup Final in his 1st season.. Academy doing really well.. good times for us is a lot closer now.. COYS
Too expensive based upon his history. PL consists of physical and fast moving play, over 38 games + Euro & Cup games...so i doubt he will be strong enough, and he will need to step up a few levels in fitness for Poch. to play him. We don't want another problem Brazilian player, Levy has to cut...
We really do need CF who can hold his own against CD physical and bullying / holding of shirts etc. tactics. This will allow pressure off Harry, so he can feed off the loose ball / move into the spaces inside the box. I suggested Chadli as CF before, as i think he could do this for us.
IMO... We need Son back in the team and a new CF.... Andros & Fazio to go in January. We also need more from AMF in quick forward passes, and.. total concentration 90 mins + Better co-ordination of AMF ST Wings.
Harry was a good manager for us. Also he had 3 world class players, Bale, Modric, VDV. Unfortunately his previous activity over the years caught up with him, along with his ambition for England job, media profile, and error in trying to take on Daniel Levy in negotiations !!. Still all Spurs...
Nacer is being played out of position IMO... should be moved to CF Harry as No.10. Then we will have a 6'2" powerful striker, who can hold his own against CD that get physical/ intimidating also he and can score goals..and then we will have a support striker (harry) with pressure off him...
