Proud of the Spurs boys this season. If City beat Arsenal, second place is pretty much guaranteed. Best finish since 1963.You have to imagine we'll get enough from the Southampton and Newcastle games, even if the Goons get a decent result. That's a good end to the season, and then with some...
I remember one season (1989/90, I think) when Luton Town were nine points behind Sheffield Wednesday with three games to go. Luton were in the relegation zone and Wednesday were clear. Luton won all their games and Wednesday lost all theirs to go down on goal difference.
Mathematically, it's...
With Rose and Walker both playing for England last night, we have to imagine it'll be Trippier and Davies starting against Liverpool on Saturday. Davies did play the full 90 for Wales but will have had an extra day to recover, Wales having played on Monday.
So five wins and a draw and we have a better than evens chance of getting the title. Sounds about right. I know it's a cliche but all we can do, is just take one game at a time. Let's go to Anfield and aim for three points, take it from there.
Realistically, I see us finishing second, which I'm...
Schmeichel playing down inury concerns. Tweeted that he retired from training as a precautionary measure. No doubt, we'll find out the truth soon enough.
At eight points behind and Leicester's continuing good results, the title may be beyond us. But we still have to go out and win matches. Secure second place, and maybe if we're lucky, Leicester will drop points. But don't count on that.
Not sure I buy that. Technically, you only receive points once the game has been completed. Hence, when we conceded the equaliser, we didn't lose points per se. We had never had them in the first place.
Besides, if we go down the 'top for 15 minutes' discussion route for too long, we're setting...
My advice FWIW. Forget about Arsenal game for now. Just concentrate on West Ham and getting the three points there and going top of the league. Then we can see where we are.
Even talk of winning the league is making me nervous. Just win the next game.
Let's hope that's a bit of kidology. Was it Sun Tzu who said, when you're strong tell your opponents you're weak? And when you're weak, tell them you're strong. Players complaining of tiredness? I don't believe it. But if our opponents do, all the better.
Worth pointing out that since Mourinho's departure, Spurs have increased the points gap over Chelsea. They're drawing too many games. I don't think they're much of a threat to us this season. Next year, maybe.
