    It seemed clear there was one player AVB wanted we practically sold the family jewels to make it happen and it did not, he must be gutted and wonder what he has let himself in for. Just feel gutted.

    I think the really big question is does Harry staying help or hinder players like Bale staying, the feeling I have is his lack of commitment has led to them loosing faith in him so suddenly staying does not seem to help, where as a new manager could be the incentive to stay.

    Sounds like an attempt to justify wasting half the window trying to tie up a contract for him to play 5 games instead of getting on with signing who we needed :(
