The thing is unlike other coaches, Ange doesn’t really plan for the opponents, he just focuses on our style of play regardless. So where as a Conte / Mourinho would have probably used the 2 weeks looking how to stop the scum we will just go out and try do what we do. Whether that is the right...
Indeed, you can see it in our home games of late, the crowd get very nervous and start moaning when we are playing it around at the back but do they not realise by now this is what they’ve been instructed to do?
Our games at the start of the season show it makes it a lot easier for us to ‘play...
Goodison park tonight showing us the type of noise and hostility we need to bring Sunday and most importantly .. belief ! Even if we do go a goal down can’t allow the stadium to turn toxic.
Udogie news is a big blow for our chances in this one, my hope was our extra energy from 2 weeks off up against tired Arsenal legs would maybe swing it our way. If Royal and Davies are playing then it would be best to revert them to classic full back roles rather than inverted.
We are going to...
To be fair there’s been quite a few games with loads of tickets on exchange since the Chelsea loss. Up till that point it was hard to get a single ticket when we was top of the league, the atmosphere was brilliant but it’s gone down hill since.
The game against palace will be a lot tougher than...
I think both Royal and Davies would be fine if you was to ask them to play a traditional full back role where they don’t come in field and get the ball on the half turn but this is completely different.
Should be on the bench v Brighton but after that we will have a tough decision to make. Maybe Werner could swap over to the RW , has he played there much?
Vicario
Porro Romero VDV Udogie
Sarr Bentancur Maddison
Kulu Richy Werner
Johnson on bench to come on if it’s not working to give more width… although Brighton shouldn’t be as lower block as Brentford. Again we are probably going to need at least 3 goals to win this.
I do believe this is another big factor, our fans lack of belief in the side and sticking behind the boys when things aren’t going well especially in home games. Obviously our recent history does leave fans to believe we will always mess things up but we really need to get back to the sort of...
We’d of had it in the bag by now if Micky’s hamstring didn’t go and all the rest that followed 😂
But it does look to be a scrap with Villa and United for top 4 now.
Next 3 home games are huge and could put us in a great position if we get the job done and stop letting the opposition back in. All Saturday 3pm kick offs at the Lane and should be full houses as not on tv. Get behind the boys and let’s make these count for the top 4.
All he needed to do today was run with that ball up the touch line in stoppage time but he chose to cut inside we then lost it and ended up giving the foul away. We have such poor game management.
Not sure Maddison will be ready to start again with such a quick turn around… Even Udogie looked very leggy towards the end.
Vicario
Porro Romero VDV Udogie
Sarr Bentancur Kulu
Johnson Richy Werner
This will not be easy tomorrow night, our attack looks no where near as good without Sonny and Brentford have had a long rest as they had no Fa cup. Expect us to come out fast early doors but if we don’t get a few goals early then it becomes nervy when our energy fades.
You would think it be Davies but the problem is with Micky due back around the 14th that means Davies will drop out as Ange is unlikely to play two LCBs. So it will be Dier / possibly Dragusin with Micky. So then your likely looking at either Vicario / Bentancur captain.
We are probably going to need at least 3 goals for a chance of a win given the defence we will have out and the fatigue that will set in towards the end of the game.
A defeat like that had been coming .. we’ve been just about getting by up until now but the absentees are taking there toll.. it’s not just any old bang average squad players missing it’s basically 5 first teamers. Yet despite the disaster of a defensive showing we could have got a 4-4 out of...
The Brighton and Bournemouth games are massive for us to potentially put ourselves in a great position going into the new year. I expect both will be a real struggle like the Everton game with our squad down to the bare bones and we can’t really do any rotations. Just have to hope we take our...
