Dunk is nothing more than a mid to lower level pl player and he's 32, so I'd much rather use this tournament to get one of the youngsters used to being away with England.
I don't really care what he's done with Brighton in the past because we need to be using these places to plan for the future...
Yeah but Dunk?!
I can't understand him playing at all today, let alone being in mind for the tournament.
Surely it would have been more useful to look at the younger defenders?
I'm a big critic of Southgate but we've been the better team here and have actually played some really good football.
I don't think Kane would have made much of a difference tonight because the loss is down to defensive errors.
That's why I'm almost struggling to see who's playing where, the fluid movement between the front 5 or 6 has been superb, with anyone popping up anywhere.
It like a back 4, Rice then everyone else!
It's been much more fluid than just two behind him though.
Rice is sitting deep, Bellingham and Mainoo seemingly given the freedom to push forward.
I don't think Bellingham is playing a 10 tonight.
He's certainly earned a place in the squad though, if maybe not in the starting 11.
But going on this admittedly tiny showing, I'd think twice about not starting him.
This should certainly put to bed the idea that Bellingham can't play in the midfield that seems to have cropped up recently.
With Rice holding and Mainoo and Bellingham playing with freedom and confidence, it's probably been the best midfield performance for a while.
Scott summed that up really well there, most of midfielders would have played safe but Mainoo showed the vision and instinct to push forward, creating a great chance.
And that's why Southgate needed to change things up a while ago, instead of sticking with the likes of Henderson and Phillips he needed to adapt to the young talent we have pushing through.
It's only late now because Southgate has dithered with no plan for the future.
Yeah and that already gets levelled at Southgate, having come through the ranks but then his vanilla personality doesn't help either.
It's going to be a tough job to select the next manager.
That's what I mentioned earlier and I'm sure it was said that they were looking to create a pathway for future managers.
I don't know much about Carsley but will he be a big enough name for the baying mob?
