My hope is that injuries is the genuine reason why GLC doesn't play much for us.
His quality is obvious. He has enough to compete with Madders for his place. If we were to go out and secure someone with a similar role we wont do much better than him.
However given he always seems to perform for...
I hope we find one the scouts deem worthy for the starting 11. I can't see it personally without a big punt, and for me we've already taken one in the form or Richy.
I think Sean Dyce had said everyone’s looking for a no.9 but there aren’t good ones around let alone elite ones. You can see why. You need to be good at so many things to be effective in PL. I think this is someone we will groom not buy.
If I was a coach and I had to choose between being good off the ball vs space I would take off the ball. It allows you to recover the ball and make space for others. Ange had said we don’t win through individuals so this is important.
Son is our only worldclass player so everyone else can be upgraded on. The question is affordability and availability. I can't see a worldclass player joining us straight up; it's something we need to groom. For example Doku wouldn't have joined us.
I think too many critics over-estimate pace and under-estimate off-the-ball qualities for a wide player. Kulu excels off-the-ball (winning the ball back, making attacking runs etc). He doesn't beat his man but that's not the only option to threaten.
Don't forget also that he has reasonable...
If he gets mins at Sevilla then great, if not then it won't do him harm either.
Sevilla is a CL-level team so he would have expanded his horizons just training there.
If he had gone to a lower-level team playing regularly against inferior opposition what would he have learnt?
We are still paying Ndom today. The financial outlay on him is worth more than a CL win.
Yes our scouting has improved since Patrachi. Only a few guys fail to make the first team at all (Rondon/Djed Spence..can't remember who else).
I feel more optimistic about our recruitment. However to...
'Someone better' is a matter of probablity. We might find someone better than him if we pay more. We might find a dud even if we pay more.
What we can't deny is that Timo isn't a good finisher (which we know from his time at Chelsea, so the scouts here wouldn't miss that) but other aspects of...
You dont say no to a good deal because of the hope that you might find someone better.
A good deal gives you results. Hope doesn't.
Besides its not mutually exclusive.
If we are playing Son in CF then the onus is on the other attackers to make space for him. Son isn't Haaland, he doesn't have target-man qualities. But Son has more range; he is a consistent shooter from outside the box.
If we want to go direct then stick Richy in CF; but that sacrifices alot...
If Eriksen was more athletic he would have made it to the RM/Barca level as Modric did.
I think he is similar to VDV in the end. Both are technically in that bracket but aren't physically, so they can't play long at the very top.
But yes Eriksen is top 5 AMs at Spurs since PL started. I...
They are both playmakers but Eriksen is a much better player. Less flashy, but loses the ball less and more consistent (in both what he's good at and what he's not good at e.g: tackling..)
