Agreed, Leicester are not the best team in the league. And yes, Goal Difference is a good barometer although this can easily be skewed by a couple of heavy wins (or defeats). Imagine Leicester were in the FA Cup final, I'd imagine there would be a few teams the bookmakers would make favourites...
Agreed. Performances and results are two different things. For example, despite being in 14th, Chelsea are still arguably the 3rd best team in the league (behind Man City and Arsenal).
I would say so far, considering our performances, we have actually underachieved this season. Bar the opening...
Nail. On. Head. Although we should consider the quality of our goal attempts (many of which are from distance) - I'd much rather see a Soldado goal attempt from 10 yards out than a 30 yard shot from Andros!
2/1 = 33.33% chance of winning the Premiership
18/1 = 5.26% chance
The gap between the top 5 (even top 6 with Liverpool) is getting closer, but you have to say Man Utd, Man City, and Chelsea are ever so slightly better at the moment. Just.
I've never had much of an interest in spread betting (mainly because it sounds really dangerous!), but from the original list, I'd say maybe Swansea, Fulham and Southampton are buys.
What odds did you get for your selections? All these were arguably good picks (price dependent of course) apart from Odd Grenland (I assume you backed them), judging by the big pre-match steams on them...yes, even Arsenal! There's no need to trade out on Betfair...take the value and move on...
Turning point was beating Norwich 2-0 away from home. Played with Bale given free reign, and absolutely smashed them...and also gave him the idea he could play as a number 10.
"He plays on the left..."
Sound a bit like Levy! ;)
It's amazing how we spoke of Llorente, Willian, Leandro (...etc) in the summer. As with the past four seasons, I would say we need a top class striker.
Someone to play behind the striker (sorry, but Dempsey just isn't good enough) wouldn't go amiss either, though I...
What miffed me was when Niko scored the winner against Bolton and Sunderland...then got dropped. I don't know - maybe the was some problems behind the scenes but he was superb for us the year we got 4th.
I thought Adebayor maybe deserves a 7. Can we give negative numbers? I reckon Dempsey's effort today warrants it. Also, Walker was woeful (once again).
Yet, he played the full 90 minutes. I just see no redeeming features to his game. His shooting technique is awful and seems only capable of scoring from millimeters out.
Am I right in saying we've made all three subs in every game? I get the impression that AVB thinks that he wins the games as...
No, I feel we struggled against WBA and, to a certain extent, Everton as well, but as we won not much was made of it. IMO, Bale should be playing on the wings. That is his best position: quick, strong, good crosser.
His passing and decision making is just not good enough (yet) to be playing in...
Yes, I think we should be favourites! We haven't played with a top striker all season - we're still top 4 material. Everton are 2 points off the relegation zone.
Granted we have some Gallas and Hutton out but they are also missing Cahill and Jags, their two most influential players.
Their...
I thought Spurs were a bet at 2.75!
We were 2.3 away to Villa, 2.4 @ Bolton and also Fulham. So for us to be 3.2 @ Everton doesn't really make sense - I wouldn't have Everton better than Bolton for sure.
Definitely keep an eye out for team news!
