    From an American perspective, the salary caps here also are designed to keep player salaries low and allow easy profit for ownership. Don't see why this would be any different.

    Pav 08-09: 5 goals in 28 league appearances 09-10: 5 in 16 10-11: 10 in 29 11-12: 1 in 5 Saha 08-09: 6 in 24 09-10: 13 in 33 10-11: 7 in 22 11-12: 1 in 18 Hardly seems like an upgrade considering Saha's age and injury problems.

    I'd say I'm happy for this season, and especially so if we aren't paying the wages of the players we've loaned out. We have upgraded at striker and in the center of midfield and shifted a lot of the dross. Despite shipping 8 goals in the past two games, I don't think CB is a huge worry for us...

    Also, don't Europa League coefficients help us in seeding for the Champions League? I seem to remember that our European runs a few years ago kept us from being seeded fourth this year when groups were being drawn.

    Our reliance on wing players might have something to do with this as well. Diagonal balls behind the defense to Bale or Lennon would probably count, switching play from wing to wing, even crosses to the back post.
