Yeah I see your point and ideally we will go and get an uber striker in the summer, but we both know that's unlikely.
Perhaps not a controversial opinion but I genuinely believe that if Kane stayed we'd be right in the mix for the title right now. I think we've forgotten how much his hold up...
I think we do need a striker, but not necessarily one that will score from nothing. We create plenty. Imo we need a clinical finisher who also has good hold up play.
I'm seeing lots of debates about CV's, experience 'at this level' etc.
Football management isn't an exact science. That's it really. One thing's for sure though, stability lends itself more to long term success than chopping and changing every 5 minutes.
"If Kane leaves we'll be in a relegation fight next season" was a pretty common theme on here.
Personally I thought anything from 4th-8th so I'm pretty happy overall. Yesterday was really horrible though.
And yes, better set pieces and a bit of flexibility is needed from the manager. I'm sure...
Considering some on here were predicting relegation when Kane left its been a pretty stellar season tbh.
Even the more sane folks who were saying 8th - 10th should be over the moon with tied for 4th with 5 left to play?
If it's a red (and a penalty iirc) when Romero does it (I think Bissouma got redded for a similar challenge too), it's a red when the forest player did it too.
Bentancur was class for the 45 he was on and PEH did really well to help change the game, but Micky gets my vote this week. We've struck gold with him.
Referee consistency is a joke.
How did blokey not get sent off for pretty much exactly the same incident as what romero got a straight red for? It was higher than Romeros red roo.
How did matey number 2 not get carded for kicking the ball away when one of ours (Sarr maybe?) got a yellow in the...
Yes but thats not his natural position imo. Hes a defensive midfielder.
He's still relatively young and can maybe learn so heart wants him to stay but head says he'll probably move on.
For me he's a 6, but one that doesn't really fit our current system. But he's club trained which we are very short on unless Devine, Donley, Dorrington, Scarlett will be asked to fill those roles.
As I said, it's a conundrum. If I was Skippy I would probably be reluctantly looking to move on...
From the limited highlights I've seen Bergvall looks more like competition for Sarr or maddison than Skipp to me. Skipp will never be a goalscoring midfielder.
It's a conundrum for sure. We should keep him imo but I doubt he's happy. He has shown time and again that given regular gametime he can be better than 'decent' but if we will only use him in injury crises I can't see him wanting to hang around.
We are pretty tight on HGs as well. Selling him...
I might actually watch tonight's game. I don't often bother with England games outside of the tournaments themselves.
FWIW I think Southgate has done an incredible job and don't understand the constant clamour to oust him. He might be a bit boring but the results speak for themselves. We are...
That's because they are single charges and can be dealt with relatively quickly. A bit like Chelsea this summer if they don't raise the funds they need by end June.
City have 115 charges IIRC. It's going to take a long time but I do think they will get a comeuppance at some point, although it...
I'm not one for hyperbole but that was piss poor. Second best all over the pitch. Worst performance under Ange by some distance.
Staying positive in the big picture though.
