leave our £40m spending during last summer .. i've been heard that he spend £60-65m before this summer

let's back to see our departures before this summer too:

Carrick 18m
Pamarot - Davis - Mendes 7.5m
Kanoute 4.5m
Simon Davies 4m
Andy Reid 3m
Davenport 3m
Brown 2m
Rasiak 2m
Atouba 1.7m
Edman 1m ( believed )
________________________
total of: £46.7m income by selling durin his 2 1/2 seasons

that mean .. we reached Europe twich during his first 2 1/2 seasons by spending 65m ( at most ) and selling 46.7m = 20m difference.

so, we paid £20m for two 5th finish ( £10m per season ) ..

that's is really good acheivment and progress by Martin Jol.

so, we should remember this fact as some people in media talked a lot about his spending .. let alone our profits announcements after every financial year

I fear in time to come that Jol's achievements will appear even greater.

Even more so since he wasn't given the type of players he asked for or needed.

It will be interesting to see what Ramos identifies as a requirement for progress. The powers that be (not Jol) spent big money to "improve" the squad but failed to find leadership or cover for King.

He cannot claim that bottom 3 is his starting point.

Top 5 is his starting point or at least UEFA Cup qualification.

Look at the league table tomorrow night. That will be his starting point, assuming he starts on Monday. There are arguments for and against Martin Jol's record at Tottenham. Blatant misrepresentations of the facts should not be among them.

During the first two seasons his net spend was actually around £4m, yes that's right, FOUR million.

no, but I'm talking about:

Spending before last summer - selling before last summer

if i want to add Mido/Murphy/Ziegler Fees, then I should add our £40m spending this season to these £60m spending before this summer .. but that's unfair as MJ left after just 10 games ..
