Arshavin is a player to link midefield and attack. Keane is a turncoat.

I vote Rusky!

Robbie Keane was top scorer at the World cup in Japan/Korea wasn't he? I think that's a big enough stage.:-|

Clearly need to check ur stats before making outrageous claims like that!

AA has done it in the Champs League and has scared some of the biggest teams around. Keane cant get infront of N'Gog............nuff said Im afraid. Dont get me wrong, I think Keane is good but he isnt what we need. He will get in the way of Modric, we need a big target man who is capable of holding up the ball and relieving our defence from the pressure it is currently under.

What has Arshavin done to merit a £15 million transfer fee? Couple of good games at the Euros? Robbie did that at the world cup and did not get as much hype. Arshavin being this great player is just a myth created by the media and obsessive fans on this website.

And Arsene Wenger who is quite a good judge of player....(even tho I hate to say it)

Keane because I know what we're getting having watched a few hundred games he's played and about 2 with Arshavin.

Spot on! No one knows how Arshavin would cope in the premiership but Keane is proven quality. My guess is people are basing their praise of Arshavin on one or two good games, imagine if you only saw that Everton game where Dean Marney looked like the best thing since sliced bread.

If we got AA, he'd be off to ManU if he was any good, I think keane wouldn't want to make the same mistake again.

Im not disapointed in Keano returning. Quite the opposite infact. But a choice between the two?. No contest. We need to take a gamble on a player that will take us to the next level. A player that would help us close the gap. Arshavin would be that player.

Haven't read through the thread but, errr...am I the only one who sees that we actually end up MAKING 4 million on the Keane deal, whereas with Arshavin we would end up paying out a full $15 mill?
I think Keane is better suited for what we need...never thought of him as much of a leader before, but christ, compared to the rudderless mob right now, he's like Moses!

OMG, Can't believe someone actually thinks arsene is a bad judge of a player which is what is implied here.

Igor Stepanovs, Nelson Vivas, Kanu, Pascal Cygan, Davor Suker, Gilles Grimandi, David Grondin, Remi Garde, Kaba Diawara, Junichi Inamoto, Jeremie Aliadiere, Oleg Luzhny, Luis Boa Morte, Richard Wright, Stefan Malz, Christopher Wreh

I'm merely pointing out that Wenger is far from infallible, including a player very similar to Arshavin as an example.

we could do a spurs list double that length based on who we have bought that have turned out just as bad.

Every manager makes poor signing but this guy has made some amazing signings by not spending as much as Spurs.

I love your sig by the way.

Indeed you could. But I was pointing out the skeletons in Wengers transfer cupboard, not Spurs

There are some other managers with equally good records as Wenger.

I think Wenger's main strength is forging a team that is greater than the sum of it's parts.

Why keep making threads about Arshavin. The guy has been linked with Arsenal the whole window :duh:

Even though I'm not happy at how Keane left, I'd much rather a proven goalscorer in this league than take a 15m punt on a Russian whos performed well in a few Uefa/Euro games.
