Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal linked Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has admitted his disappointment at not sealing a move away from the club this summer.

The fact he was rated at £25m by Southampton might have something to do with it not happening. I doubt the club value him at that price

Silly boy, he would have been better off keeping his head down and concentrating on football at Soton for a few months..

Don't agree ther UncleBuck. If he wants out he needs to keep playing football but also let it be known he wants a move, which is what he's doing.

That's for clubs and agents to sort out. Players need to show respect to the fans who pay to watch them. Saints were stripped bare and to have players left crying about how they wanted out too is yet another slap in the face.

You could argue that MS wanted out most yet it seemed everyone else could leave apart from him. not the fans fault though!

Well boo hoo for him. He still has a very privileged lifestyle. Too many of them are too far removed from reality to have a credible opinion.

He'll be annoyed as his salary will not be the right level for a £25m pound player. I doubt he is on anywhere near £80k/w

It must be extremely frustrating to be in a team where most of the better players have left along with the manager who inspired you.

You would feel bitter that some could go and you were forced to stay.

don't always assume its about getting more money. just because someone earns a lot, doesn't mean they should not want to work somewhere they want to.

nothing wrong with him wanting to play for a 'better' team and continue working with a coach that he believes in and believes improves him. It's his career and its a short one.

just because there is a lot of money at stake is neither here nor there.

He'll do the exact same to us if someone bigger came in for him. Not saying it's wrong, if a player wants to leave get the best possible deal for him and reinvest. I said so when both Modders and Bale left.

I imagine Soton boxed themselves into a corner with their stance, given his age and the fact that he will only have 18 months left on his contract in Jan I imagine they compromised with a promise to let him leave in Jan
I expect a deal has been pretty much lined up that allowed Soton to keep face this summer and for them to sell in Jan at a reasonable price in Jan to save them from the possibility of having to sell for a much reduced fee next summer or have him walk out for nothing in 18 months
Rodriguez will be another player with only 18 months left and I can see the same thing assuming he has shown sufficient recovery from his injury
I imagine there's just as much likelihood that some agreement has been made there too and that's why we never really pushed for another striker

if I was Soton I would be looking to sell him to anyone but us.

Somewhat irrelevant if the player wants to move to us or if other clubs that might interest him already have players they are happy with for their midfield or other targets

Let's hope they don't wait to see out their contract because we'll probably have had another 3 managers in that time

interesting listening to the likes of le tisier ref snierderlin
when the likes of bale ,modric, berbatov etc wanted out
the view being when a player wants to go it is better to let them go ,get as much cash as possible in transfer fees rather than keep an unhappy player who could cause team unrest and lack of effort from a player that wanted out also it was unfair to stop a player from moving to a higher placed club
this view by le tiss has done a complete u turn now that his team is involved
he now thinks if you sign a contract you must stick to it
the fact that five other players have moved to better themselves is apparently irrelevant
i would be really amused if morgan s decides to see out his contract and leave on a bosman
something that has been banterred about the likes bale modric ,berbatov
so come on sniiderlin do the right thing ,move only on a bosman
