My old man has just told me this story about his best mate who is into his betting. Me and my old man don't bet so I'm just passing this on second hand and I don't know or understand the full details! He's into these accumulators and spends hours pouring over the various ones for footie and horse racing.
He took one out at the start of the season and picked the winners and runners up of every football league down to the conference and some of the Scottish leagues.
He got every single team in first/second and was left with Aberdeen v Motherwell in the last game of the season. btw the bloke is from Aberdeen and he's been a lifelong fan of theirs for over 50 years. Aberdeen needed just a draw to come runners up to Celtic and for him to win the big un. Motherwell needed to win to leap frog Aberdeen into 2nd place.
Well you know what's coming! Motherwell scored in the 90th minute to win 1-0 and finished 2 points ahead of Aberdeen.
He's actually won £750 which is not bad but he's told my old man that his home team has cost him 10's of thousands of pounds and he is truly gutted.
