Wouldn't want Diarra. Overrated player if ever there was one.

If you can keep him focussed then you have a World class footballer on your hands. His form for Portsmouth was extrordinary. He has all the tools required to get into ANY team in the world

Do you really think that BBLG? I know he's been like the littlest Hobo in the amount of clubs he's had compared to his age, but I actually quite rate him.

I just always end up underwhelmed by him. He's a pretty pacey, pretty energetic player and he has a decent tackle and shot on him, but he also lacks presence, not what you want from your midfield enforcer, and can struggle with more skillful opponents. For the amount Real would want, I just don't think he'd be worth it. I don't think he'd suit our midfield the way the current incumbents do, and especially not the way Huddlestone does.

I can see us getting him, but I can see Huddlestone and possibly Jenas too keeping him out of the side long term and him just looking for another move. Of course there's the possibility of Modric getting shafted to the left and Bale getting shafted to left back, but putting arguably our two best players out of position just to accomodate Diarra would royally piss me off.

The free flowing football we're seeing right now, I don't think Diarra would be condusive to that. If he was, he'd be in the Madrid side ahead of a quite frankly mediocre Khedira.

As I can't post ITK as I'm banned I'll put it here for the mods to pick up, Madridspur saying Lassana Diarra to Spurs for £15 million and could happen quick.

Madrid Spur is pretty unreliable though no? I think he just gets his stuff from the local newspaper.

Ultimately I want that centre forward who matches up to our midfield, but I actually see the logic in this system while one eludes us if we manage to sign an attacking midfielder of the required level of genius.

Ronaldinho
VDV
Bale Modric Jenas Lennon

I think that's taking football purism to a whole new level so I'll be quiet now.
Ronaldinho is better as a deep lying player though. He doesn't have the pace to get beyond players anymore, but he does still have the ability to pick out glorious balls from midfield.

VDV
Bale-----------------------Lennon
Modric----Ronaldinho
Huddlestone

Thats the only system I can imagine working. Still not a fan of carrying Ronaldinho a lot of the time though.

Oh there is no way I'd actually hold my breath for the formation I saw, and if we did get Ronaldinho, it would obviously be a case of one of him, Lennon, VDV and Bale, but I was just letting my mind be happy.

The more I think about it I think we should sign the buck toothed maestro. He can play a number of attacking positions and we have plenty of games comming up.

A 50% ronaldinho is better than Kranjcar, Bentley, Keane and Crouch.

We could probably get the price knocked down to 5m and they guy is still only 30.

There's a new club in for him... Erm... Blackburn...

Blackburn Rovers have made an audacious bid to sign Ronaldinho from Milan. The plan is the brainchild of Balaji Rao, a member of the family who run Venky's, the Indian chicken company which recently bought the Lancashire club.

Ronaldinho has been given permission by Milan to find a new club and was widely believed to be heading back to Brazil to play for Gremio. But his brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, revealed to he Daily Mirror that Blackburn and another unnamed Premier League club have been in contact with him about signing the Brazilian World Cup winner.

"Blackburn have contacted us. There is also other interest in England but this is confidential," said De Assis.

Venky's leaked news of its interest on its website briefly yesterday before removing it. However, sources close to Rovers reveal the move has been on for the past month.

Rovers are understood to have offered Ronaldinho a £130,000-per-week, two-and-a-half-year contract and would also have to pay Milan a fee.

If he could play a strikers role then yes. I'd cream myself if we got Eto'o, that's the sort of striker we need

as great as he was, i dont think ronaldinho is the type of character the players need around right now. Great ability, but seems content to wind down his career already.

I get the feeling Blackburn's new owners are in the process of turning them into a complete laughing stock. Expecting a top 5 finish with that bunch of hoofers is comical to say the least.

I think the first day they bought the club their first words were "we'd like to finish between 10-12" then it was "Hey big Sam, you'll only get 5 million to spend in January otherwise bring them on loans"

pathetic

foreign ownership is going to kill football.

How are Blackburn going to sign Ronny for £5M when he's for sale at £8M? Levy's not helping them with the deal is he?
