‘He is convinced’: Orban is now ready and willing to join Tottenham

One player who has been consistently linked is Gent’s Gift Orban.

The £20m forward has been sounded out by Spurs ahead of a potential move, and according to Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, the attacker is more than happy with the personal terms that have been presented to him by Spurs.

Jones shared what he knows about Orban.

“I expected progress to be made yesterday on that for Tottenham, but I’m not sure it was. That doesn’t look brilliant, but they were first on the scene and they are the most interested. He is convinced of the personal package they have put in front of him, so that is going to be fine, it’s just about agreeing a deal with Gent, so let’s see what happens there,” Jones said.

I genuinely don't know anything about the guy, and probably can't be chuffed to Google. Is he a real deal professional, or are there "questions" over him? Guess I'm just jaded by the likes of Ndombele.

Probably like most on here, I've seen a few clips and really know very little about Orban. However, I'd take a gamble on youth, desire and ambition over the expensive, moody ego that is Lukaku. He veers between brilliant IF he's in the mood to awful when he sulking. I just can't see his work rate being up to Ange's demands?

I think you'd struggle to find many people on here who want Lukaku.

Orban may be a smash hit, as may Nuamah, but I remain astonished that we are seemingly not targeting players who are in any way established high level performers. Punts on young talent from minor leagues are educated hail Marys especially for the 9th richest club on earth who've just sold the world's best striker.

I'm not aware of any concerns over his attitude or professionalism. What I do know is that he's quick, strong (for his size), and seems to be a clinical finisher.

He's 21 and has averaged roughly a goal per game (44 goals + 9 assists in 48 games) over the past 1.5 years, while playing in Belgium & Norway. So far this season, with Gent, he has scored 1 in 2 league games and 4 in 3 ECL qualifiers. Obviously he's not currently playing against PL standard opposition, but a 21-year-old Championship / League One player with those scoring stats would command a transfer fee far exceeding the reported £20m asking price.

When he went to Norway didn’t impress on trial. Got another chance on loan 4th division for the second team. Impresses so much takes everyone by surprise ends up 1st. Gent sign him!

Both clubs feel the kid is to good for them, he seems to settle very quickly
