It's the 14m bit that Levy won't go for. I hope we have a proper look at Dembele.

You'd hope by now Poch and Levy would know enough abiut him....

14m on this guy seems a lot, even if it's euros not pounds. We do need a striker though because Kane could get injured and then we'd be stuck. From the links I've seen Berahino and Dembele look most likely. I think Berahino has it in him to become a top striker but his behaviour makes me wonder if we really want him and he won't come cheap. Dembele on the other hand is out of contract at the end of the season so we could probably get him for "only" a few million. Not as much potential but it looks like a Levy dealm

14 goals last season, 7 this season hardly enough to justify spending 14 million on a 27 year old. If Kane is out of a while, we will need someone who we are confident can cover for him. Levy said that he could get Charlie Austin for less than 15 million but Poch turned that option down, I think he looking for a quality player who can cover more than one position.

I'd say it was more the standard of the league than the figures.

If his 7 goals were in EPL he'd be joint 7th top scorer alongside Aguero, Kane only has one more. Pelle has 6 this season. 14 last season in EPL would have made him joint 6th top scorer with Giroud and Hazard. Not sure you can ask more than that from a back up, but of course, the likelihood of him porting over that to our league is slim.

And saying that, he's not even Gent's top scorer and they're 2nd in the Belgian league so are a bigger local fish, so to speak, so should have more (he's not even in top 10). And they've played more games too

Quite, although I suspect it's 14m euros, 10m quid- which is what we paid for Njie who's scored 6 goals in his entire career. Berahino only got 14 last season, the only time he's ever broke 5 goals in a season, and they wanted 25m for him. I know English and younger but if we need a target back up, we need to shop in a different pool

We should never think about paying that amount or anything near it for Berahino but he's not a player I wanted us to get anyway, Njie had his first professional season and he's only 22 so we are really paying for potential. Depoitre is 27 and he is only just coming good in the Belgian league, I would prefer us to get Dembele from Fulham.

Son is good enough to cover for Kane. Njie is emergency back up. Would like to add someone else but don't think we need to add just because. Needs to be somone who can add to the squad. Otherwise we will end up with another Ade.
