“I was great at half-time,” said the Spain manager Luis Enrique. “The logical thing would have been to kick something, crap on everything and kill them, but I didn’t.” He didn’t need to: Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane – especially Harry Kane – had already done so.

Kudos indeed from the Spanish press, praising Harry for his all round performance and intelligence.
He's one of our own, y'know.

Loved some of the comments. Here though is an intelligent press who realise who the real star of the show was. My only concern is that Barca are going to be more on their guard than ever against us when we play them again. Though the upside is that we have players who are not fazed by going away to the best and picking their pockets. Winning that game can be the lift our players need after a rther jaded, but mostly effective, start to the season

Basically they under estimated us according to Spanish press. I said so last night. They were pretty arrogant in their approach to us and it blew up in their faces.

I know the front three have been getting all the plaudits from all corners of the media & rightly so as they were t'rrrific,

but,

id like to give a mention to another Harry,

Winks was brilliant all night and a midfielder like him is what England have been crying out for.

Very good review in the Indy Football podcast. One thing though is the boorishness of England fans, which was why it was great when they came up against Russian fans and got twatted. Basically, right wing xenophobes, DFLA neanderthals, weirdly also singing "F*** The Pope".

I know a few people that attend all England away games and they’re nothing of the sort, just because you get a few idiots don’t tar everyone with that brush. And being happy about innocent bystanders some of whom were family men with their kids just trying to enjoy a football tournament being maimed for life by Russian thugs is nothing to be proud of.

Ah the Spanish.
Its ironic they found it difficult to praise Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford and lorded Kane...i just will never forget the treatment of S Wright-Philips in Spain what a disgrace that was. Though of course its great a Spurs player get recognitions.

The podcast stated that it could no longer be a case of a few bad apples, but that they were a sizeable portion. I wasn't tarring everyone with the same brush. I hadn't even heard of problems, so it was interesting to hear their take. Also, I was referring to the things who got twatted by other more thuggish thugs.

Despite the idiots (including Spurs fan) calling Talksport last week saying Winks isn't good enough for Spurs or England.

So you disagree with them that Harry Kane was that good then?

For me, Kane had hand in all 3 goals and directly set up 2 though the others scored. No Kane = different result.
