Tottenham boss Antonio Conte insists there is always a "strategy" behind his dramatic press conferences. The Italian appeared to cast doubt over his future after last week's defeat to Burnley when he claimed he was "not good enough" to fix Spurs' problems and that the club needed to make an assessment on his position.

I see. His threats to leave are just an act presumably to encourage Levy to spend money in the summer.
So what is the strategy behind revealing it is all an act? Or is that too an act?

Just when I thought I had a grip on reality, it all pours through my hands like sand.

He does it because he knows that Levy knows that we know what Paratici knows the Press know (or don't know). It's all smoke and mirrors.

I think if anything it's aimed at the players. he knows exactly where he stands with Levy.

They certainly need a bit of a reality check if they can beat Man City away one week and then not turn up v Burnley the next. I put in the pre match thread that I dread games like that right after a stonking performance.
