He'll get sacked, just like he usually does

They all do. The Mourinho's, the Capello's the Hiddink's and the Van Gaal's of this world. Never last long anywhere.

Anyway, I took Van Gaal's comment to be a sort of back-handed compliment. The squad we have here is better (or at least was) than the one they had there. Maybe he thought he'd find it easier to make a Premiership winning side out of us here, than the car crash full of shit he chose to inherit at United.

I do like van Gaal, as I hold onto my percentile of Dutch heritage to follow the Oranje.....but fucking hell that is the most obtuse comment I could imagine.

You can go to a club where you have unlimited resources and a pedigree that allows you to land Angel di Maria without UCL and do what has been done many many times. Or you come to a club with signifcantly less resources and pull, which has lost its lofty status to the point that none of us remember how to win (fans, players, management). And one where he would get less time than he would at United (which is odd to think).

Is easier one of those false cognates in Dutch?
