He should just learn to shut up. What has tottenham got to do with anything. I am sure Man utd fans would rather he got on with it.

If you look at the quote it's quite clear that the journalist has asked him a leading question. I'd imagine it's something along the lines of

Interviewer - So Louis, looking at the first three games do you think you underestimated the challenge you have and regret taking the United job rather than going to Tottenham?

LVG said:
“No, I don’t regret taking this job,” he told reporters. “Yes, it is a massive job I have taken on at Manchester United. I realise that. And the situation is not worse than I thought - I knew what I would find on my plate.

“I could have opted for an easier job. If I had gone to Tottenham, the job would not have been as enormous as here at United.
If he'd stopped there all would be fine but like @Mattspur said It's ok to talk your own club up, but no need to talk any other club down.

Instead he carried on with...
LVG said:
“I could have easily gone to Spurs. But I chose the biggest challenge of all the jobs in football. And I really wanted to join the number one club in the country, not Tottenham.

“Financially, Tottenham was kind of as attractive as Man United. But, in my eyes, Man United is still the number one club in England, Tottenham really is not.”

You know he's Dutch don't you? Arrogance is a national trait.

Funnily enough my Mrs is Dutch and I live in the Netherlands. As far as I have seen it isn't. If you class countries by how their sportsmen (or woman) act then it might seem that way. You should come over and sample it sometime. Amsterdam is as about as Dutch as London is English so come to the smaller towns and you will find they really aren't.

Quite simply we are a threat. He knows that. So no brainer for him to try and diminish us. Hopefully they get diminished for the rest of the season but they keep LVG as he is too expensive to get rid of

Couldn't care less what he thinks.
He's spent a chunk of cash and should be concentrating on UTD
Personally I think they needed a couple of centre halfs and a DM.
Only time will tell.

Can you imagine the reaction if they fail to beat QPR?

Yes he'll be given time but he'll still be expected to pick up a respectable rate of points in the interim.

What makes you think he will be given time ?

Just like Moyes, he will be gone by the end of the season if they fail to make the top 4

Nothing wrong with what he said.

United are the biggest club in this country so Alot more pressure to actually win things to keep the brand rolling off the field & not to mention the shambles of a squad he has to transform.

I can't for the life of me understand why supposedly intelligent people are getting their knickers in a twist over perfectly innocuous statements such as this. we're not as big as Man U are, and obviously the pressure and expectations managing us are considerably less than at Man U. that's all. let's move on, people, there's nothing to see here...

He's made his job a lot harder by not signing some quality defenders, that's for sure! If I was a United fan I would be seriously worried by the area's he has chosen to improve. If I lost Evra, Vidic and Ferdinand in one summer, I don't think Falcao and Di Maria would even enter my mind, let alone be my priority

I think generally it is easier for a coach to fix the defence than the attack.
Defence is about organisation which a coach can teach players.
Attack is instinct, coach can't teach.

Why are folks getting bent out of shape. He's just telling the truth. Getting united ahead of Chelsea and city and back competing in the finals at least semi finals of the CL is so much harder than scrapping 4th
