he didn't allow the cross, he got a foot to it which killed the pace of the cross and on any other day friedel gathers it in. ironically if he'd just allowed the cross then it probably doesn't end up in the back of the net.

it was 80% friedel's fault, 20% walker's for not following sinclair in. i can't be bothered to watch it again but one of gallas or kaboul might've done better.

Can't be bothered to watch it again but you'll argue about it all the same? This place can be strange like that.

To begin with, we dropped too deep after conceding a free kick just outside Swansea's box. Then we didn't put any pressure on the ball before it reached Swansea's #22. Thanks, Gareth and Jake. Ekotto didn't get tight enough. Gallas and Kaboul looked like they expected Friedel to collect. Which he didn't. Walker switched off at the back post, had no idea Sinclair was breezing in to slot into an empty net.

Collectively, our defending was so poor that we allowed a Swansea player to advance with the ball from just outside his penalty area all the way past the centre circle.

i'm not watching it again because i know what roles ekotto, friedel and walker had in the goal, i'm not concerned over which of gallas or kaboul was standing with friedel waiting for him to collect as frankly i don't see it as being important. a few minutes earlier benoit closed down a dyer shot only for him to fake, cut inside and poke a cross to the far post for which walker cleared(brilliantly i might add). so the next play benny stands off a bit more instead of selling himself and still gets a good chunk on the ball, it's now down to friedel to do his job and collect, which he failed to do. there's no blame on benny for the goal whatsoever.

Did Ekotto stop the cross from coming in?

I just watched the goal again (ESPN goals is a great app which is now free) for the 5th time and the fault lies solely on Freidel.

If the cross hadn't hit BAE's leg, then it would have been an easy clearance for Gallas.

Ekotto could have done better, Friedel should have done better, Walker has to do better.

The same three were all culpable for the last goal we conceded.

no. i think you're underestimating just how difficult it is to do so though, and even then he killed the pace of the cross.

I have just checked that passage of play. Dyer (with his back to our goal) received the ball on the edge of our box. BAE gave him too much time and space to turn. Nobody was tracking #14, Dyer played him in and BAE ended up falling backwards onto his arse as he tried to prevent a cross coming in.

Harry said it was a catalogue of errors, Omar.

Adebayor 4 - Got to say iv had a chance to meet him twice in two days and both times he has been a wanker and refused to sign something for a little boy that idolises him! my little nefue even had adebayor on the back of his top and ade first time round said noo im going for food and today at the liberty he just walked passed ignoring us even though we called him and asked.

To balance your view off. Adebayor does a lot of work for charities both in this country and in Africa especially. Ade has opened schools and sponsored many schemes so he can't be that bad.
