Bale wasn't great but i fail to see how anyone gave Rose a higher mark, just what do you base that opinion on??
Rose produced a decent bit of skill at left back in the second half, where he flicked it over a blackburn players head, only to take a touch on his knee that i can only describe as a fucking laughable. Rose had no one to worry about all game and didn't get one decent cross over.

Before the match I was actually a little bit worried about this game as I had a dream last night we drew 0-0 and I thought it was going to be one of them games, both teams needing a win, Blackburn playing for their lives. I thought it was going to be a tricky game but we dominated from the start. Blackburn were poor but I thought we done our job and played some nice football at times and was a good game to watch.

I was pleased with the team selection he picked and was pleased to see Sandro start who I have to say had a great game. MOTM for me, he worked his nuts of, just made them simple but crucial challenges , broke up play, made some great runs, looked good going forward aswell and he was unlucky not to score, he had a great shot and hit the crossbar and had a shot that was going in deflected.

We should of won the game by a lot more and it was a comfortable win in the end.

Fredial-7 nothing to do, done what he had to.

Walker-8.5 great free kick, we had the best view from where we was sitting, It just seemed to swerve right out and swerve right around the wall and into the top right corner, fantastic free kick I must admit. Again looks bit shacky defensively, he flew into a couple of challenges but yeah a decent game.

Kaboul- 8 very good game, defended well, won a lot, strong, went on a few good runs, good game

Gallas-8 same as above

Rose-5.5 ok the lad tried and done a couple of good things, I know he is only young but I just do not think he is good enough, he lost it in silly positions a few times, he did not get down that wing much and try and take on his man, his crossing was awful, he done a few good things and tried hard but just not quite good enough IMO Thought we Missed Ekotto

Lennon-7.5 some glimpses of what he can do, made some good runs, looked lively, worked hard but I just expect a bit more him, should of scored a few times and his shots were poor, done some decent things.

Modric-7.5 again woked hard, some some good things, made some good ball, done some good things. Same as above really.

Van Der Vart-8 again worked really hard, made some good balls, got a goal, good game.

Sandro-9 MOTM? Very good game, worked so hard from the start, broke up play well, the only one who was not scared to make a challenge and was good going forward, made a few great runs with some good skill, was unlucky not the score a couple of times, very good game.

Bale-wannabe-Ronaldo-6, poor really. He Just looks like he thinks he is too good or something, kept changing sides, kept coming into that middle, he did do a few good things and made a few good runs, but he just needs to stick to LM and beat his man and I expect much more from him, very frustrating player sometimes

Ade-8 good game held it up well, some good skill, great pace and some great runs, good game.

Overall a good win.

The team played well and Sandro was MOTM for me. Bale was absolute dog shite!

It's simply disrespectful now, the way he plays. No regard for the team and how important he is for us on the left and how effective he is there. The level of arrogance is stunning. He jeapordizes us every game with his roaming bullshit.

'Arry can fuck off as well for encouraging it and not reigning it in.

What a strange affair that was. Tactically, one of the worst performances I've seen at WHL by a visiting side ever. Really hard to truly weigh up as Blackburn we so inept and insipid, if it was a fight the ref possibly would have stopped it about round 4 because the patsy refused to throw a punch.

1-0 down and needing to survive, not only couldn't they be arsed to play, they couldn't even be arsed to stop us playing. Really strange. Added to his bizarre tactical shape and strategy which allowed us time and space on the ball in areas where most teams work their nuts off to stop us having time and space.

You cannot fault the motions we went through, up to the final third we did a lot of right things, engineered good "situations", but our decision making and execution once in those situations was mostly woefully abysmal. The main culprit being Lennon, who started in the first minute by wasting a open goal, and then proceeded to waste so many chances to deliver a final ball or end product in great positions that I literally lost count. If you are going to spurn the opportunity to shoot when put clean through at the very least you must find a team mate with the alternative choice. This game sums up Lennon's whole career for me. Lots of whizz, no where near enough bang.

He wasn't the only culprit, just the most frequent. Walker & Rose both wasted several great opportunities to deliver a final ball from great situations.

Adebayor had one of those days that only he seemed to be able to smile about. He got about, but seemed to want to fuck about too much. VDV and Modric did what they always do and were OK, although even VDV wasted a chance at the end with a poor final ball.

I would have preferred to see Modric provide a bit of brain in the final third, that really wasn't a game when we needed him further back. Lennon and Bale is just brainless overload at times. Yes I know they combined for the goal (the only thing either of them got right in the final third for most of that game).

Gallas & Kaboul could have pulled up deck chairs and order a couple of pina coladas.

Sandro was magnificent in the first half and just plain good second.

Hands up who, until Walkers wonder goal, were thinking "I know how this ends, seen this movie before, they get their only corner of the game in the last minute and grab an equaliser".

Ratings:

Fatty 6 - ?

Walker 7.5 - We'll all ignore the the couple of really bad howlers he made defensively and the fact that he also wasted some great attacking situations because of the magnificent free kick. A good week for the boy, if I didn't know better I'd say Gary Neville's got the hots for him. 2 of that 8 is for relaxing my sphincter with the free kick.

Gallas 7 - Easy game.

Kaboul 7 - As above. This is our current best pairing.

Rose 6.5 - Lots of effort, but you can see why he's back up.

Lennon 7.5 - Marks for effort for sure. He's possibly never seen more ball in a game than that ever. But was incredibly wasteful and made some poor final choices and execution, it really could have cost us.

Sandro 8 - Back to his hunter gatherer best. Unlucky not to score. Lovely little spin as well.

Modric 7.5 - Good game.

Bale 6 - disappointing generally.

VDV 7.5 - good game.

Adebayor 6 - Got about, saw plenty of ball, but just didn't seem sharp.

Good game. I thought Kaboul and Sandro played really well. I thought Modric became increasingly lackadaisical - either because of the long season, or the disincentive of qualifying for CL in his case, or some combination of them both - on more than one occasion seeming to spurn the simple little through ball to a free man, to play a go nowhere lateral ball. I thought we saw the best and worst of Adebayor. VdV was full of energy, kept going the whole match and was a driving force. It was a good over all team performance, against a woeful Blackburn.

My main gripe was with the substitutions, why take VdV off for Defoe? Why take Sandro off for Livermore? It couldn't have been to rest them because it was less than 10 minutes from the end, Ok we were 2-0 up, but what possible purpose did those substitutions serve? They could only have weakened us.

But anyway, forget about that 3rd place is back on, let's do it, and hope Chelsea win the CL :) !!

At least Rose got up and down the left. Where the fuck was Bale? A lot of the time Rose had no one to pass to. I thought he played quite well In what was essentially his first start for fuck knows how long.

How about no?

I would rather Arse came 4th than Chelsea winning anything, especially the ECL.

Sandro had a beast of a game. Shame his shot wasn't about an inch and a half lower. Should stay in the team for Bolton on the strength of that.

I give Robbo a 10 for making the Paxton Lower laugh.

In the second half, he was shouting at one of his defenders to line it, probably about 4/5 times, he ignored the advice and gave it away, which followed Robbo quite vocally saying "Fucking hell" and turning to his old adoring fans and giving us a glance as if to say "this is what I have to deal with every week"

Friedel - Cant rate as literally had nothing to do.

Walker 8 - Worth the rating for the freekick alone.

Gallas and Kaboul 7 - Dealt with the little they did have to do comfortably.

Rose 7 - Got up and down the left hand side well with precious little support from Bale. He did make some poor choices and a few iffy crosses but was always available and saw plenty of the ball, sound enough in his first game for yonks. And for people slating him in comparison with BAE, well Benny (as much as like the guy) wastes good possession and puts in some dire crosses every week, how about we start calling him out on it from now on?

Lennon 7 - Looked as lively as I have seen in ages, made himself available and was the better of our two wingers, missed a sitter though and lacked the final ball today which stops him getting a higher mark.

Sandro 9 - Magnificent display, especially first half. Won the ball back numerous times and seemed invincible when it came to tackles. Even offered a threat going forward. Possibly the best individual display from a Tottenham player this season.

Modric 7 - Pretty good today I thought. Kept things ticking along nicely.

Van der Vaart 7.5 - Ditto.

Bale 6 - Subdued. Not his best game today.

Adebayor 7 - I think he held the ball up well at times and did his job, would have been nice to see him threaten more in front of goal though.

Robbo was a ledge today. At Park Lane we were singing "Robbo let em in" he turned and gave us a clap. Was nice to sing "Englands number 1" aswell.

I do love Robbo. Another of our employees the England team has ruined.

Sandro,Kaboul and VDV the stand-outs for me.
Rose was as good as Ekotto has been for the last month.
Walker scored a great goal.
Adebayor has a touch as bad as Pav and Lennon couldn't cross his legs.

Jesus, how bad were Blackburn............they looked like they had already flown out for their summer holidays.

Yup - bizarre incompetence from Kean.

Sandro was magnificent in the first half and just plain good second.

8? Sandro deserves at least another point for throwing up on the pitch halfway through the first half, giving it a few deep breaths, and then hurling himself into challenge after challenge.

A truly dynamic performance.

This game sums up Lennon's whole career for me. Lots of whizz, no where near enough bang.

Unfortunately I have to agree.

Friedel 6, for actually catching a cross on his 6 yard line

Walker 7.5 didn't know he had that free kick in him, and from his post match interview neither did he

Rose 6.5, tried but looked very nervous

Gallas & Kaboul 7, had the cigars out

Sandro 9, immense, looked better without Parker alongside him and having to take responsibilty as the Destroyer

Modric 7.5, kept us ticking over

Lennon 6.5, for effort and keeping wide

Bale 6.5, nothing really came off for him

VDV 8, always working and looking to make things happen

Ade 6.5, as Bale

Rose can't lace Benny's boots. One amazing goal against the scum don't cut it

We need better cover for Benny than him next season

Maybe I'm just too focussed on the future, but Arsenal not getting CL, losing Van Persie, and slipping back seems a better long term outcome (albeit Chelsea will have won the CL), than Chelsea not getting CL who with their money will simply buy more players regardless. Also, as much as I dislike Chelsea and what they stand for I can't say I dislike them more than Arsenal. Maybe it's where I live, I don't know?
