Bale was poor, at least Rose played his role.
i agree, though wee cruised the match bale did very little (exscluding the assist), i thought rose played well for being his first start in a while, at least he didn do a few stupid flicks that benny trys to do and usually gets us into bother .

MOM....easy...Sandro

I thought Luka was better than alot are giving him credit for.

I agree, I thought Luka was very good, and the two of them looked a great CM pairing. Sandro was truly immense. Have to say, though, while we obviously affected it Blackburn were absolutely shockingly terrible. We should've had 2-3 more from all the space they should've given us while desperately attacking, but they couldn't even be bothered to bring more than 4 players into our half at the most and not even a single bloody try towards goal. They sure made it easy for us, and clearly deserve what now looks inevitably like relegation.

I've said this before, but Rose doesn't show enough for me. He was great towards the end of last season, and he's a decent defender, but he's shocking going forward, can't get past a man, terrible passing, even worse crosses. I also agree that Bale was fairly poor yesterday, and he should certainly stick to the left. On a more positive note: in addition to Sandro's great defensive contribution I don't think the way we denied Blackburn and the return of Kaboul was a coincidence; he's our best CB and seem to form a very good understanding with Gallas as well.

I know Lennon can be inconsistent, but I must admit when he's on it - we as a team look much more exciting and dangerous.

More exciting for neutrals, perhaps.

Exactly JH. There's a massive difference between looking exciting and actually converting that into meaningful product. And with Lennon it's always been a case of lots of looking exciting and no where near enough producing of goods.

I'm not saying he isn't frustrating at times as well, he clearly is. I just mean when he is playing well we look exciting and there is end product.

Not everything has to be so black and white all the time.

For me, it's not really a grey area MrP.

Sandro was great, Walker was his usual self with that added great strike, thought rose did ok, kaboul and gallas didn't have much to do.

Bale was complete cack, kept running in to traffic, not forgetting Adebayor either, when was the last time he actually played well?

Even so, I like that he's not afraid to have a go at senior players. Didn't he tear into Friedel as well recently?

Walker was telling Modric to release the ball quicker, and rightly so. Modric dallies on the ball too long looking for that sweet chestnut cross field pass that every already knows where it's going 10 minutes before it's been hit.

Lennon's a top player, underrated by many and creates more chances than most think too. Yes he's frustrating but he's still bloody good and miles ahead of anything else on the right hand side for us.
Also does his fair share helping out his right back too

If we got more players in the box it might help too! Our lack of numbers in the box 90% of the time is shocking. The difference between us and a side like Man U in this department is shocking

yeah but what about Gio? As the same people who slate Lennon bemoan poor old Gio's lack of chances and would obviously much sooner see him which is difficult to fathom as he's never shown us anything really in the opportunities that he has had!

And as for Lennon not creating, I thought I saw a pretty tasty and well thought out chipped cross to Bale yesterday which led to the all important opening goal!

It is very easy to fall into the fallacy of believing that creating is something that shows up on goals/assists statistics - kinda removes the neccessity of, like, actually watching what happens.

Doesn't he have our highest assists (or prob highest per game played) this season , in any case? what's not to like? (Yes, he could be better, but he's pretty damn good already.)

That was me agreeing with you, btw, SP - before we get into one of those 'But I didn't say that' type discussions ... ;)
