I've rarely seen a Moyes Everton side beaten so efficiently! It was such and assured performance yet again, something that is so refreshing to see. Until Drenthe came on, they didnt even look like creating a chance.

Livermore was excellent and played with a lot of disipline, If he can continue to mold his game around that kind of performance he could be a big player for us.

Friedel - 6. Was he playing?
Walker - 7. Quelled any threat defensively, Would like to see him be more decisive in the last third. The ball into VDV which set up Adebayor's chance in the second half is what i'd like to see more often. Great prospect
Dawson - 7.5. Thought he was excellent, kept his passing short and won the battle against both big men for Everton
Kaboul - 7. Dodgy last 10 minutes but other than that was good. I like the fact he can surge forward with the ball. Its a big asset against teams who sit deep and get numbers back
Assou-Ekotto - 8. Great game, fully deserved his goal
Lennon - 7. Quiet game and tightly watched by Baines, could afford to drift inside more with Walker bombing on.
Modric - 7. Efficient and kept us ticking. Seemed happy to let the front four do their thing and rarely went beyond the front man. Possibly the lack of Parker/Sandro was in the back of his head
Livermore - 8.5 (MOM). Terrific performance. Talent has always been there but performances like that show the tactical side and discipline are there too.
Bale - 7. Really like his movement this season, just needs to take games by the scruff of the neck more often. Too nice sometimes
Van der Vaart - 8. Excellent. He is the difference between a top 4 and a title winning side. Pops up all over the place and some of his passes and touches were sublime. A proper "Spurs" player.
Adebayor - 7. Again hard work and great interplay are slightly overshadowed by wasteful finishing. You can tell he would be a nightmare to mark though!

Friedel 7 - I guess for a clean sheet?

Walker 7.5 - solid, I liked how at the end he cut across the field and tried to copy BAE's goal.

Dawson 7.5 - Did he ever leave? Looked as assured as ever.

Kaboul 7.5 - Even at unfavored LCB, still looked good. I wish he wouldn't dive in on tackles so much though, if he could just contain a bit better I think he's on his way to be one of the best in the world.

BAE 9 - Goal, assist, Disco. 'Nuff said.

Lennon 7- Goal. But needed to get involved more. I'll write it off as due to injury.

Livermore 8.5 - Beast alert. If he keeps this up we will without a doubt have a very good squad player.

Modric 7.5 - I wish he could shoot...

Bale 7 - dangerous, sadly didn't produce much.

VdV 9 - My god is he class.

Adebayor 7 - meh...

Pienaar 7 - looked lively, I hope he keeps that up.

Pav 3 - shit. leave now.

They all deserve a 9 for the win that now makes us joint 2nd with Man Ure., although IMHO Livermore definitely deserves a 10 for playing out of his skin in tonight's historical achievement

Van Der Vaart outstanding in every way.
Most passes and longest distance travelled. Inspirational....................9

Livermore excellent but docked 1 for that suicidal lazy crossfield ball.....8

Benny. crossfield assist which to be honest should have been cut out
and a blue boot screamer..............................................................8

Modric. understated performance. seems content to fill in
and let others play. If he could shoot he win the Ballon D'Or.................8

Livermore. Showed what he can do. No mere understudy.....................7.5

Dawson..Welcome back.Has he even been away? Solid and composed....7.5

The rest can divi up the points between them.Except for Friedel who has put in a transfer request because he needs to play more at his age.

Thought Benny, Dawson and Livermore were our best players in a solid team performance, my MoTM has to be Dawson. He hardly put a foot wrong all night, no surprise to see him getting the armband and leading by example.

Fair play to Jake Livermore, good performance without anything too spectacular, he seems to be our new water carrier. He's Jenas with a bit more bollocks about him, still unsure that he'll ever make a regular starter, but if he is willing to be a back-up player and perform like that when required then I'd be happy enough with that. Proved me wrong last night even with Everton being quite lacklustre.

The angry big font size made that for me.

So it does, ooops.

In that case I will grace this thread with my 100% correct, undeniable opinions which you would all do well to agree with because I'm better than you in every way.

Friedel had not one save to make.

Walker was cumbersome in the first half but improved in the second half.

Dawson was imperious.

Kaboul had a few off colour moments for a change but still was a beast the majority of the time.

Ekotto played amazing passes and crosses all evening, including to Lennon for our opener, and his touch and skill were sublime. Don't think he conceded a cross either. Even without the goal he was MoM.

Lennon was a bit rusty but scored a goal and made some darting runs off the ball. Protected Walker superbly.

Livermore, barring one awful pass at the end of the first half, had a very good game. His best performance for us in terms of battling and use of the ball.

Modric was a bit sluggish by his standards and did not enjoy the kicking Neville gave him, but he still kept things flowing.

Bale had a few great moments but I think the butchering he was given got into his head a little and affected him.

Vdv was simply outstanding, his touch, his passing, his vision. Gifted footballer.

Adebayor held the ball well, linked up well, but lately he lacks a little composure in front of goal.

Pienaar came on and helped keep things steady.

Pav was, well, Pav.

Livermore 10 - Excellent proved hes an upgrade on jenas played very well nice & tidy and good strength and brilliant composure also coupled with a great turn of pace he probably has not got the passing range of luka or legs desire of parker or the long range passing of hudd! but hes the type of player man united win leagues with a brilliant utility player thats happy to be back up at his boyhood club! and never looks out of place would love to see his passing stats! for today!.

Are you serious? I think you are getting way ahead of yourself there.

Livermore was workmanlike, nothing more, nothing less. He did a decent holding job against a fairly average Everton midfield.... the way you are describing him, it's like he's the second coming of Steve Perryman.

he probably has not got the passing range of luka

.... probably?!?!? No sh!t, Sherlock...

hes the type of player man united win leagues with

actually, I think you'll find that the type of player that United win league titles with is Keane, Scholes, Giggs, Rooney, Ronaldo, van Nistelrooy and so on.... not really the same class of player as Livermore.

Look, sorry for jumping on your post but it's just another example of how Spurs fans tend to view our own players through lilywhite tinted glasses. Livermore is an OK player - but you could find players of the same quality in every team in the Championship, possibly even League One.

I was at the game last night and I watched him on and off the ball quite a bit. He had a very limited role, although he grew in confidence towards the end of the game - in fact there were at least 4 or 5 occasions when other players (esp. Modric & VdV) took the decision not to pass to him, even though he was in space at the time.

Livermore is miles behind Parker, and a good distance behind Sandro. Don't kid yourself that he could start 10 games for us and expect that we will be challenging for honours.

He tries hard but, just like Jamie O'Hara, I don't think that he'll make it at the Lane.

Possession the best form of defence.

This. 12 goals conceded in last 18 games. That is very, very, very good record. And I can't even remember Freidel had to make particularly spectacular saves (he was busy but not superhuman against Fulham) in that run.

Livermore stood out becasue he raised it above the levels he's shown and should be proud and build on that. BAE got out of his mini slump and played very well. even without an assit and goal to his name.

best player on the pitch was VDV though.

true but if we lose the title by 2pts or 1 goal i'll hold him responsible due to the Swansea goal

Sorry, it's my proof readers day off.
I'll stick with 8 for Livermore.
Comments stand.

I'd go with 8 as well. It was a really good performance, and the kind of performance we need from that position for VDV to put in such an outstanding display.
