Just my opinion BC, and I agree with a lot of that...but generous with Adebayor and harsh on Livermore and Kranky IMO.

I don;'t think Omar was being abusive - I took it as a joke, and found it quite funny...

...it was just his sense of humour, I don't think he was suggesting you actually get banned for being so far off the mark about Parker that folk in the antipodes may have to duck for fear of a ricochet

    THIS

    AND THIS

I've given him some stick recently, but I think in the last couple of games he looks like he has his mojo back.
I know some will say he lost it because he wasn't getting picked, but this TW he said straight away he wants to be here, in previous ones he's been saying he wants out for game time before the window even started. And his fat-boy cameo was shocking. Maybe it was a bit of the ol' 'Arry seeing something on the training ground that has got him some game time

On reflection you are right about Adebayor and Kranjcar and on appeal I have downed and upped them half each respectively.

In defence of the way we sat back and defended deeply, it''s not the way I want to see us play generally but with the paceless Dawson and rapidly slowing King as centre backs playing high up the pitch would have certainly brought Bellamy and later Suarez in the game in behind us, Kaboul's pace is vital for us to play more proactively higher up the park, and also VDV helps us keep and recycle possession better as a team. As it was, sitting deep negated the pace of in form Bellamy, and Suarez when he came on although it did mean Carroll was a threat with his knock downs. Play high up the pitch against Carroll you render him useless but I would have winced seeing Bellamy and Suarez getting in behind Daws and King.

We defended compactly, and weren't particularly troubled by them. Put Kaboul, VDV and Sandro in that side - and Ade holding the ball up better then we could have played more proactively and taken the game to them. I still look at that as a decent well earned point.

Livermore played well but his first touch let him down tonight and his passing seemed pretty wasteful as well.

He's ok at home vs the likes of Everton, but away to the big teams, his record doesnt look that good.

Kranjcar wasn't outstanding but I'm glad he played because without him we would have struggled even more to retain any ball. He sees more ball than Bale and loads more than Lennon and also did work defensively, he's just not great at it, but at least he tries.

    Not sure about this

It's more to do with our mentality as a club and team. We should be going to some of these grounds with more belief and trying to take the game to them and dictating play.

We're a bloody good side but I dont think they realise how good

At Stoke and Man City we were 2-0 down in both games without showing what we had or trying to impose our game on them. Same could have been said tonight

At WHL I reckon they think they can beat anyone but this certainly doesn't look the case on our travels

Shows how good a side we actually are when we could (maybe even should) have won at City, Liverpool and had it not been for the Ref, Stoke.

I just wrote out a post about belief and how disappointed I've been that we haven't shown more of it against the top teams this season. We've got bloody good players, but we are not bloody good at every aspect of the game and that sucks some of our belief out.

We have been made to look second best by ManC, manU, Chelsea and Arsenal at times this season. To be made to look it by that Liverpool side is disappointing and the most disappointing thing was the lack of belief we showed in ourselves, we just didn't look like we thought we could win that game.

But the only player to worry about in the starting line-ups was Bellamy and he was marked by Walker (our quickest defender). I know Dawson is not good for a high line, but against Carroll I'd have chanced it, with King/Walker in there as cover we should have been OK. We just didn't press at all and allowed Liverpool so much time and room to play it was awful. And we showed so little belief in our own ability it was pitiful. I think Liverpool have a very good back 4, but we didn't ask them any questions.

My only fear tonight was that Liverpool would outwork us because they would never outclass us.
Without Parker we would have lost this game and to be fair it wasn't even 1 of his best games this season.

He was there for the second half against Wigan and Watford and we were shit then too.

Just one thing BC,Bellamy has been Liverpool's most potent threat in the last couple of games and tonight Walker never gave him a kick.

I felt we needed a lot more from our fullbacks going forward. Massively disappointing.

I haven't bothered to bash BAE for ages now but all the different coloured boots in the world, mad barnets, vacant expressions and "profound" observations in newspaper interviews can't gloss over his shoddy use of the ball tonight for me. Completed 39/61 passes.

Possibly so, it was definitely the conservative option to take but I can see why with Kaboul, Sandro and VDV out. Kaboul is obviously perfect for a proactive approach, Sandro is a better shield than Parker and Parker is a better scurrier than Livermore. VDV obviously speaks for itself. We had a good team out there, but those few players do make such a difference to our dynamic.

My main beef with us last season was that when on the back foot we didn't get compact and were criminally open, it was horrible. At least when we're on the back foot this season we look reasonably compact and haven't been playing out those ridiculously open slugfests. I don't think we should be on the backfoot that much at all these days, tonight I'm sure we would have been more proactive had we had those players fit, and also good options from the bench to change the game.

First half I thought we were decent and second we did concede the initiative which was frustrating but I'm still reasonably contented with a point. Perhaps half time we could have been braver and pushed up 15 yards and moved Modric from his deeper role in the 4-3-3 to a 4-2-3-1 (I even made that point at HT in the match thread) because he is better from deep against bus parkers, but when there is space higher up the field that's where he should be, especially in VDVs absence.

When I said 'In defence', it wasn't that I am entirely thrilled by the way we went about things, although I do understand it to some degree, and compared to some of last seasons games which looked bereft of any tactics whatsoever I prefer what I saw tonight, if not the way I ultimately want to see us playing.

Don't underestimate Bennie's use of the ball, his passsing is far more progressive than all bar Modric and VDV in our team, he is responsible for so many moves starting and his passes often take out 2-3 players from the game by splitting 2 midfielders/defenders, his passing is bound to be more hit and miss than say Parker who just gives the first pass he sees more often than not.

Kranjcar made the through ball that sent Bale one on one with reina. Great pass there. Kranjcar played well and worked hard. Deserved his place in the team.

overall, well played by Spurs. NO VdV or Lennon, so always happy for the point. As far as the players -

    Parker - 9 tactics tailor-made for him
    Ade - 2 useless

    everyone else - 7
