i thought Defoe played well today, he stayed strong, he distributed well and remained a threat in behind

Gutted. But great performance, which got better as the game went on. Didn't deserve the finish at all, but that's life

I dont think he had to follow Dzeko at all, whilst Walker switched off and should have tracked Nasri you dont do what Kaboul did and just leave a great big hole in the middle of the defence on the edge of your own penalty box.

Dzeko dragged Kaboul across which left the space for nasri to run into, it's a man each fucking Walker was at fault all day long. He just got caught ball watching when he should have tracked that run.

Forwards will drag CBs about, i fail to see how kaboul can just let dzeko pull off him and not go with his run, especially as he was still in a dangerous area to us.

Game of two halves for Bale. He was probably the worst player in the first half along with Benni. 2nd half he was excellent.

Friedel was excellent in terms of coming out to beat the striker to the ball but once again he was suspect at crosses/corners.

King, misjudged the ball and then an awful challenge, sighh.

Defoe, 1 well taken goal, 1 shocking miss and not a lot else.

I will say that we looked much more solid when VDFart went off.

Would rather bench him and play Modders, Parker, Sandro in mid, Bale, Lennon wide, Adebayor up top. A new striker is must!!!!!!

I really feel that we would have won with Adebayor. Well on to the next one!

You have to hold the defensive line as a centre back, not just run out at the first sight of someone making a run or the defence would have more holes than swiss cheese.

You hold your position, be aware of where the guy is and if the ball is played into his feet then you think about going out and closing him down.

Defoe took his goal well. He was ineffectual and insignificant for the rest of the game, and hesitated when he had the chance to win the game. We could not retain the ball in the final third because every time it went near Defoe it came back. He also couldn't be arsed to challenge for Ekotto's clearance that ended in the pen.

Each to their own mate, but in that instance Dzeko just pulls across and imo Kaboul cannot just let him do that in that position. Maybe further up the field then thats a different story but on the edge of our box, then i dnt believe he can just let him go. If and i stress "IF" walker was doing his job and tracks the run but he just ball watches. I see that on sunday mornings.

I'm not Ekotto's biggest fan, but I think he was possibly thinking if we take the throw we will be pushed deep into our half with a few seconds to go, better to just hump it clear and get into shape. Maybe ?

The thing is, after Dawson, Ekotto is our guiltiest humper and I was thinking first half he humped a couple that he really shouldn't have done. And if he was going to hum it, he should have put it into a channel, not straight down the middle.

You just have to let the ball go out of play, especially at that point. If you're losing with seconds to go, i could understand it. The last thing you do is surrender possession that easily. Who was he hoofing it too? Defoe??.

Costly error of judgement imo.

No way mate.

Walker just stands and ball watches as Nasri runs from ten yards away, across him. Walker had nothing else to think about. This is the problem with Walker, he lacks intelligence and does not read the game. It's happened nearly every game but it's not every game we play players this good.

Kaboul has to go with Dzeko. Everyone else is doing their jobs perfectly in that passage of play except Walker and Bale.

Bale's nonchalant half arsed attempt to press Silva before he makes the tackle was a joke and he keeps doing shit like that game after game.

Looking at the average marks for the team as it stands, i'm not sure why anyone is complaining at all about us losing today. If all them 5.5's and 6's were actually accurate, we'd have deserved to lose.
