Damo did I call you anything at all today?

I don't feel silly at all I expressed my honest opinion and why you felt the need to bring it up in a different thread is beyond me. Are you just bored and spoiling for a row? I didn't directly call anyone a liar only to be proved wrong did I?? Don't you feel a bit silly?

I don't have a problem with people expressing their opinions it's why we're here although constant streams of negative guff get on my nerves especially before a ball is kicked.

And would you prefer it if our midfield was only average? Without our midfield we wouldn't be challenging for the Champions League places. So what?? becomes big fucking deal in actual fact...

Personally my heart sank as soon as I heard Adebayor was injured and Defoe was starting. But the point Steve was making was (although I did panic when I got the news to be fair) was that we should still have had enough to beat QPR, and we should have, and that with Adebayor and Saha injured Defoe kind of had to start, but at least he played Sandro and went with the 433 instead of the bollocks 441/442.

I also agree about Zamora. I don't know why we didn't pick him up for the pittance he was available for in Jan. Would have been another great squad back up option for us and would have definitely got games. Would have made more sense than Saha really.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. I didn't want Defoe starting but I thought honestly that we'd dominate possession and break them down probably 2nd half. I didn't legislate for Friedal wearing clown shoes and being unable to move as the ball was kicked (just seen it again on MOTD it's arthritic goalkeeping) and H losing his bottle at HT and taking Sandro off.

I agree BC, but only to an extent.

Was anyone really that confident of us winning at half time? I wasn't. Even though the correct decision would of been to leave things as they were, we wern't really threatening - and to me that's what pissed me off more than anything today.

We seem to be masters of the middle third. Not enough movement or numbers when we get into the final third and when the opposition have it in our half all our players have magically disappeared and the path is clear towards our goal.

Today on the face of it we didnt do that badly and had large spells of possession, but not enough chances were created and it shows how much we missed Adebayor and his link up play up top. I did think that as a team we seemed to be a bit lethargic and missing a bit of spark and tempo. I dont know whether that is physical (tiredness) or mental (feeling the pressure).

    As for ratings:

Friedel 3 - Poor for the goal, terrible distribution, put others under pressure.

Walker 6 - Runs a lot, which gets us out of trouble quite a bit.

    Gallas 6 - OK I guess

King 6 - Ditto, but still looks a shadow of his former self.

Ekotto 4 - Second best in his duel with Mackie. Poor run of games recently.

Sandro 5 - Cant say he did a lot, but dont think he should have been subbed.

Parker 6 - Tried hard as usual.

Modric 5 - In and out of the game.

VDV 6 - One good shot, set pieces have noticeably improved in recent weeks.

Bale 5 - I wish he would stay on the left.

Defoe <INSERT MINUS NUMBER HERE> - Useless today.

Lennon 5 - Too much wandering, it all got a bit muddled and congested.

Rose 5 - Looked more assured than Ekotto today, that didnt take much though.

Me? I could have been one of the "bunch of pussies" you were referring to. But anyway, no i don't feel silly. You gave an opinion that turned out to be pretty much wrong in terms of how you felt the result would go today. And all those you were referring to, were pretty much as entitled to their feelings and also proved right to have that opinion about todays game.

I also feel you have an opinion about how the game went today, which is vastly different from most on here. I don't even think we looked like scoring a goal and aside the VDV chance you refer to, which for his ability he should have done better, but it was by no means a "gimme". I did think we were clueless an opinion you have already disagreed with. If you are going to challenge peoples opinions and call them pussies, expect your own to be brought into question. Especially as their feelings before the game were correct. We have just lost at home to Norwich and got thumped big style by Chelsea and have let a 10 point lead slip away, to now be outside of the top four in a short space of time. I aren't surprised most people have a negative outlook before a game.

I'll put into context pretty quickly, we were far more dangerous looking at Stamford Bridge....and we didn't create one single chance as good as the VDV or Adebayor one there...

Yes I know Adebayor wasn't playing today.

But the Lennon at half time sub didn't help. We needed to get Modric further forward (like in the Chelsea away and Swansea game) not make him play further back liker the Norwich and Chelsea semi.

I agree it didn't help, it compounded things...but I still wasn't confident regardless!

And you know what call me to task over the way I expressed myself, I don't have a problem with that. It's not my opinion you disagreed with so much as the way I expressed it which is fair enough, for the record, I didn't object so much to people's opinions but the way some people expressed them 'might as well give up', 'we've no chance' etc etc. which is pretty extreme when all things are considered.

If I offended you or any others today then I apologise. But I didn't tell any lies and I don't like being accused of it. I thought H picked the right team today which he didn't against Norwich or Chelsea. The loss of Adebayor was big but I still thought we'd win. I don't think that was an extremely optimistic opinion and certainly I didn't say 'we're bound to win' or 'how can we lose?' which would've mirrored the more extreme pre match negativity.

My opinion of today's game is on page 1 of this thread and I stand by it. I certainly don't post on here to agree or disagree with anyone else or be popular with the majority.

By the way, did anyone hear the post match comments by Hughes. "I thought we were by far the better team and anything other than a victory for us would have been a travesty"

    What a ****.

Which was a big deal. But you know what Pinky, I think 0 - 0 HT and H backs his starting 11 and we grind them down 2nd half maybe bringing on Lennon later to stretch tired legs. Instead we conceded an awful goal (from their only chance), QPR have summink to cling to and defend, their crowd go mad, we start to panic, H loses his bottle and we get desperate and lose our shape.

The goal annoys me because it was a dolly really. I mean a top corner wonder goal you say fair enough but that today was as bad as dropping it in the net for me. Watch it again and see what you think.

That was the longest day this year for me, must have done about 60-70 miles on varying trains between 9:00am and about 10:50pm. Sat in the South Africa stand with thousands of Qpr fans and half the youth team.

As for the game, I thought only Modric and Parker really came out of the game with any credit along with Walker and maybe Gallas, but they'd struggle to get a 7. Qpr were decent, I was pretty impressed with Taiwo for them, the free kick didn't look a foul and I thought the referee wasn't great at all.

We look so fucking jaded it's untrue, Qpr are fighting for their life and it showed, no Ade fucked us, but then again how can we expect to get the CL on a fucking Championship budget, I still feel Levy has a lot to answer for.

I'm off out in London tonight to get absolutely fucking binned.

Well i just feel it's gone now for us, you can tell by the body language of the players. It's going to be very difficult to get fourth now. Newcastle are flying and we are in a terrible state and we are having to play teams fighting for their lives. We should all be sat with our feet up, just wondering who is going to finish fourth. It could be disastrous if we don't get fourth, you can bet Modric is probably wanting away regardless, would VDV stay? Barca may have pop for bale. Any of those top names getting slung about when we were within reach of top spot, even if they were realistic in the first place, certainly won't be now.

I know BC won't agree but i wish Dawson was fit and Huddlestone.

ps I was only doing it to wind you up steve, it's saturday night(well sunday morning) and i was bored, sorry i won't do it again mate.

Up at 9, Archway to Harlington, then to Heathrow, then to Leicester Square, then to Shepherds Bush for the match, then to Hackney, back to Archway and now off to Faringdon.

I feel like I've been around the world twice. Walking wounded here due to blood alcohol levels and other errr bits and bobs.

Free tickets were lovely, if a bit of a nightmare, not being able to express myself. Qpr fans are an angry bunch, they really do not like Chelsea much.
