Lancaster has never ever ever ever been mentioned on here has he?

Who is this mysterious masked man?

And why weren't he in the Europa Squad?

This!

Where has this guy come from?

I actually liked him and he really looks like a player.

Anyone with any info on him?

Was at this, had a blinding seat to that I picked up on ticket exchange...

I'll do ratings later because I'm blocked...but Bale
(MOM), Modric and Parker were superb. Niko did well....but my God Adebayor was poor tonight. I'm a big advocate for what he does for the team dynamic but apart from winning a couple of headers that's as poor as I've seen from him. Lost the ball countless times and his movement was poor.

It's called a deflection. I would advise you to watch it again but we know what happened last time.

Do you get alerts every time I post on the forum? You seem pretty hurt if I criticise Parker too, are you his girlfriend or something?

No one at spurs is immune to constructive criticism if the aim is to progress as a team.

Bale MOTM and also special praise for Luka and Scott.

Ekotto has been asleep for a few weeks now and someone really needs to give him a good kick in the balls to waken him up.
Adebayor ran about and did nothing once again.
It's a crime that Niko has not been played all season.
We played some really nice football in the first half but to be honest we had a poor attitude in the second half.

Yes I am Parker's girlfriend, what a really mature comment.

I don't have an alert, just like to challenge bullshit comments, just ironic that they seem to be a lot of yours. Pattern emerging.

Have you changed your mind about the ratings since you know it's a deflection or are you still going to be 'arrogant for believing you are right' or whatever it was you came up with last time.

I agree with this choice, Bale was the matchwinner in terms of goals naturally, but I actually thought it was a truly outstanding performance from Modric.

It's also good because we wont see much of BorisTM for a while.

I agree it was flat second half, very flat. Cold night and the game was won as far as the team was concerned. Only Parker was putting a shift in that half.

Regarding Kranjcar. Why is this guy not used more...he made one mistake at the start of the second half that could of been costly but the majority of the time he just oozed class.

It was SB, it was a close call.....Modric was divine at certain stages, his close control and ability to fend off others is quite exceptional.

I'm not with you on the Niko thing there Mr Pink. He was good in the first half but I thought he was exceptionally poor in the second, did you see how many times he had his hand help up in an apologetic way?

That's probably true but nobody really played that well in the second half.
Niko is a fine footballer and we should be using him a hell of a lot more than we have.

I wouldn't go as far as saying exceptionally poor in the second, but there were mistakes for sure. One in particular were he tried to cushion the ball back to someone on the edge of our box which somebody intercepted, Moses I think,...that could of been very costly.

Passing wasn't as good but then again we wern't purring, it was flat second half and we actually gave Wigan a glimpse in terms of finding a route back into the game.

First half though - he was quality.

Bale was awesome.
Kaboul was solid as has been most of the season.
Unfortunately, BAE did what he usually does today. He gets forward on good days, and because we are Spurs we enjoy it. Because of the fear of Bale he is given more space than normally and hence looks better than he is. Defensively, we will not get us to the 'next level' with him as part of our back 4. Walker is defensively flawed but is able to compensate with his exceptionable pace and not as prone to make poor decisions as BAE does, plus he will undoubtedly improve with every game.
We may be without both for the trip to Anfield if the FA take action on BAE's tackle and all of a sudden our defensive frailties will be exaberbated. However, bizarrely our defensive unit may be improved but for certain our attacking wide threat will be hindered!

A game of two halves, a team of two halves and a team of two personalities.

Personally, I don't believe we were as great in the first half as we appeared either. Wigan stood off us and neither defended nor attacked, they just seemed to be happy watching. They are the worst team defensively in this league.

I thought we never really played with much urgency tonight. There was some tidy football, some neat passing and a couple of well constructed moves, but Wigan were so passive in the first half that it was almost impolite not to score.

It was really good to see Kranjcar given a game and by and large he repaid the manager with a very decent knock for a player who hasn't played much football at all this season. He saw roughly twice as much ball as Lennon usually does and for me, whilst by no means being worthy of a regular starting birth, should have been used more often as he provides intelligent possession and attacking threat.

It was a decent first half but considerably aided by the polite ambivalence of Wigan. The second was a different story. It seems all Wigan had to do was actually pretend to be serious about competing in the match to scare us shitless off our passing game.

We can look like such a good team when teams stand off and we stroke the ball about, but once this - hardly ferocious - Wigan side pressed us we capitulated into our wimpy "other" persona. We stood off, the usual suspects meandered around like turtles in a windsock and Wigan played the more cohesive football, we seemed content to play on the break.

Once again we seem incapable of playing two decent halves, as so often this season, and the fact that we were at home to fucking Wigan, the softest of soft touches was incredibly fucking worrying. ManC came out and did the same early doors and nearly had the game rapped up, Wolves also said a collective "boo" that seemed to throw us off our collective stride and that game was littered with a lack of quality, as this game became. Sloppy passing, the ball frequently given away by casual sloppyness.

We are living in very lucky times because it just so happens that the big boys all find themselves collectively in worse shape than the have been for many years. We have several talented individuals and at times they play good football, but if we don't get taught to work and earn games the hard way especially when teams aren't benevolently just going to gift wrap us games then soon this shit won't wash.

Some teams succeed even when their best individuals don't, does anyone honestly think our work ethos would win us games if we didn't have our individuals ?

Ratings:

Friedel 7 - default. SFA to do really.

Walker 5 - I remain non plussed.

Kaboul 8 - The answer to the question is yes, he is now our No.1 CB.

King 6 - That was the worst performance by King, possibly ever. Looked ordinary and was actually outpaced to a ball despite the attacker giving a yard start. A horrible, horrible moment. It ain't over, but the fat lady is definitely gargling a port and lemon in readiness.

Ekotto 6 - I don't like it when he wears big hair, it fucks with his game. He saw shit loads of ball but did several stupid things, doesn't close down properly at times, and should have been sent off because, not for the first time, his touch was strangely poor tonight several times.

Kranjcar 7 - Saw loads of ball and always plays with his head up, and tonight contributed to quite a lot of what was decent. I'm happy to see him play more often, if not every week as he gives us something different, and if VDV is out would be a good stand in.

Parker 8 - You simply have to make allowances for how much he has to do because others shirk responsibility. The bloke is fucked by the 70th minute because he's covered Bale & Modric's shifts too. He wasn't brilliant tonight and his contribution waned but without him - or a player like him - we would be fucked because we have some really casual ****'s when it comes to graft, pressing and putting a foot in.

Modric 7.5 - Saw lots of ball, created Bale's first with a beautiful ball, scored a great goal, and I have no idea exactly where his default position was second half, he seemed to just float around gayly.

Bale 7 - Scored two beautifully taken goals. But defensively was shockingly abysmal and also was greedy a couple of other times. Created nothing of note for anyone else.

Adebayor 6 - first half was lively, but was disappointed with his second half, but to be fair we were poor, his service deteriorated and there was no VDV pulling strings.

Livermore 6 - did ok.

Bale was MOTM by a country mile tonight, had it not been for him I reckon we'd have struggled to win

Wigan are by far the poorest team I've seen at WHL this season

Not sure If Ledley picked up a knock early on in the game but that is the worst 90mins of football I can remember from him. He was poor and Kaboul had to clear up on several occasions

Cannot believe his marks on here against a crap team and hardly under any pressure. He really struggled tonight

Benny was Benny up against guys he thought couldn't lace his boots (which they couldn't) but he can be a bit too casual for his own good sometimes. Still a class act though
