I think if bale is injured then he will go with defoe and ade up top with vdv in midfield on the left, hope bale is ok though...

VdV has to play by simple virtue of the fact that it would be scandalous to have played him against Watford in the Cup only to save his legs against Wigan in the PL.

Assuming Sandro and Lennon are unfit then Harry will play:

Friedel
Walker Kaboul Daws BAE
VdV Parker Modric Bale
Defoe Ade

I think Harry will pick that team if Lennon is out. I don't think he should, but he will. In that circumstance I would play Pienaar on the right instead of playing VDV out of position, and leave JD on the bench.

Lemon tweeted that he was at training today - should imagine he will play.

Hey guys King is obviously first choice assuming he's fit. As he isnt fit that much I would prefer Bassong instead of Gallas and Dawson

Don't think King will be risked with big away trips coming up.

Team should be;

Friedel

Walker
Kaboul
Dawson
Ekotto

Lennon
Parker
Modric
Bale

VDV

Ade

Difficult to pick a team to be true.

Don't know who is at 100% and who isn't

-------------------Friedel---------------------
-Walker----Kaboul----------King-------Assou---
------------Parker--------Modric---------------
---Lennon--------------------------Bale-------
-----------------VDV--------------------------
------------------------Adebayor--------------

subs:
Cudicini - Dawson, Sandro, Livermore, Kranjcar, Pienaar/ Pav, Defoe

I would be very happy to see Niko at least 30 minutes, still think he would be great in Rafas position

King should be fine - he will have a week to recover.

Speaking of the liverpool game - will suarez still be banned? Isn't that the last match of his ban?

I remember a time when I'd get excited every time Lennon received the ball. This time is now but a memory. He doesn't deserve a place in the line up until he decides 'oh hang on, I'm fucking fast and have a fair bit of skill, let's start trying to dribble past defenders again'. Defoe, on the other hand, might have his limitations but he is also scoring at a good rate this season. VDV on the right is never ideal, and it takes him away from his most dangerous area, but it is good for ball retention. Bale would have to be told to stick to his flank like glue though.

Too true about Lennon, I cannot understand his reluctance to take his man on. This has happened for a while now and it infuriates me no end, pace is one of his greatest assets and he does not exploit it anywhere near enough.

The checking back has stalled our forward momentum on more than one occasion...Bale provides the cut and thrust now sadly, if we had it more from both sides we'd be even better than we are now.

Sort it out Azza.

Im not sure if Lennon is still rusty and getting over his injury but to me he looks like he has lost a bit of his spark. His speed is ok but when I watch him recently he doesnt seem to have that explosive acceleration of old. He also looks like he has bulked up a little bit.

I do think he balances out the team when he plays on the right, I certainly prefer him playing there to VDV.

Nobody has stood up for him more than me, or for longer, I've always kept faith in him and he's always come back into form and reminded me why I keep faith in him.

The problem now is that, in the past it seemed down to loss of confidence, but it's been going on for such a long time now, during spells where we've been playing well and he's had no reason to be down about stuff, that it's as if he thinks his game is better served by being so overly cautious and safe every time he is in possession. I'm all for keeping possession, but there were times v Watford the other night, for instance, where he had so much space to run into and he just went inside or passed backwards. The one time he did burst forward on a dribble he won a free kick and got his marker booked.

The guy has incredible pace, a beautiful first touch and great close control. He also has a fair bit of vision when he has the space to use it. He never has the space to use it any more because somewhere along the line he stopped doing what he does best. I wonder why he doesn't just think to himself 'wow, look at Bale, he's so fast and skillfull and beats players for fun, oh wait, I'm fast and skillfull, let's start dribbling again'. It's very frustrating.
