we had three of our best players out against them last time, managed to take a 2-1 lead and were in control.. lapses of concentration cost us. I have noticed we can turn the style within an instance this season. Its all a game of margins.

A nice early goal, set the pace, set the tone.... Keep it till half time, let them throw the kitchen sink and counter... Bale 2-0 lead.

Thre are a number of factors in our favour,

• They can lose and still get CL qualification.
• Sadly they don't see us as the same level as Man U or Man C, I'm hoping complacency plays a part.
• They have a European final coming up.
• Lampard and his team mates will be looking to help him break the record - its a distraction.
• This season we have beaten each of the current top four except Cheaski. For me this shows our boys can really pull out a performance when it matters against the big boys.
• With Bale you always have a chance.
• Szcasarseholeny has done our team talk. If the boys needed firing up then his words can only have helped. And no one likes to see arrogance like that, even the gods of chance

anyone have any updates on possible injuries , dembele and lennon mainly . Also anyone thinking we might well go 442 / 4411 with adebayor and defoe up front with lennon and bale on the wings. Bale has pretty much been playing as a striker but then we are lacking on the wing as dempsey just drifts in the middle anyway.

I'm not sure if 'going for it' is necessarily a very good idea if by that we mean attack attack attack.

Chelsea have got a frightening array of attacking talent and if we give them too much space they will punish us. Similarly, we've been at our best this season on the counter attack so an all out attack approach might nullify our main threat.

Having said that we have to go for the win so there may come a point where we really do have to go for it. Losing 5-0 will make no difference to us losing 1-0 so if the game is still within our grasp with 20 minutes to go then we really should go for it.

Personally I can't see us keeping a clean sheet so we're going to need to score at least twice to win. I'm not sure I've seen enough from us recently to suggest we can do that, but we will have to see.

This. We always play better against teams that come at us. It's when teams sit back and park the bus where we struggle.

Just want to see all our players giving 110% as a minimum requirement. I don't want to see any laughing and joking in the tunnel with mates or international team mates. I want to see mean, angry, focused faces concentrating solely on the job at hand. If we're gonna go down I want us to put up a fight and not just give them the victory.

I know we need to win but the best way to win here is to keep it tight and restrict the space. They have far better attackers than us so if we open it up we'll get murdered. Stay in the game and there's always a chance of us nicking a goal through Bale or Clint.

Like yer thinking....but how many times does an early goal mean our 'minimum effort' boys take their foot off the pedal .

No , for me its a tight tactical battle and we score mebbe 86th min and hang on by fingernails .

Its perfect for us in many ways though. Christ I would of been very confident if we had a fit Dembele and Sandro for this game.

We sit deep with a good shape, organised and disciplined and blast them on the counter. Definitely not a game for the high line, we'll get absolutely murdered if we do that.

We want to be winning the ball back and moving it as fast as we can to hit them on the counter. If we can defend well we have a chance.

this is what i think AVB should do , they know what bale has done through the middle and the always have mikel and ramires in there to cover the back four so bale on the left would mean players like hazard or oscar defending and they will not do that too often.
