The former. I'd never want to see any of our players purposely cheat, but I certainly wouldn't mind us scoring goals that should have been given offside and the like.

Exactly my point, I feel like we're in the champions league because we deserve it, to me if it was a handball or dive it would feel hollow, it would be worse than 'buying' the top 4 place.

Like I say, I'd never want to see any of our players purposely cheat. I don't know what would happen if that did occur though. Would certainly put a dampener on things!

If you're not good enough to go through on ability, then chances are you will be found out soon enough. I remember getting to the Man Utd Carling Cup Final. Scrapping through against a cracking Burnley team with 2 late goals after their brave performance had them 3 up and level on aggregate was nowhere near the feeling of thumping the Scum 5-1. Not cheating (although I think their away goal didn't count?) but we got very lucky. One of the 2 Finals we went on to win. And obviously I'll make the point of how France did once they turned up in South Africa. Karma has the habit of biting you on the bum.

In reality, especially given potentially increased investment in Liverpool, qualifying for 4th is going to become increasingly more difficult

I wouldn't, for example, be surprised if this was the only time we qualified for the CL in at least the next decade - I hate to say it but until things change, we are going to struggle to compete with City, Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and possibly Liverpool. They just have a lot more money than we do.

Therefore, I really want to enjoy this year. So come on Spurs, lets just get there!!

I think it was purely because they were a league below, but they got promoted that season remember. The way I see it is if we'd have beaten Pompey at Wembley despite a poor performance, would that have left a sour taste? Pompey last season were arguably a lot worse than the Burnley team who we beat.

I'm aware of where they were and the circumstances around it. If we had beaten Pompey in the same circumstances I'd have been very worried going into the Final. Like I say, quite often, if you've blagged it, you get caught out.

But thats quite often not the case too.
