Always!!! Why is it always one step Forwwrd, then 2 steps back?

This time 3 seasons ago, we hammered Liverpool 4-0 played them off the park, some of the best football we have played, fast forward a few years,we get spanked 5-0 at home!

I think we were right to get rid of AVB and whilst Levy has done a good Job in bringing us from mid table mediocrity to champions league challengers,I am worried about his managerial choices. We have had a few shockers (Santini,Ramos etc) and as well as that we've now spent £110mil on what it seems are players who have taken us backwards.

Not saying Levy out but why is it always 1 step forward, 2 steps back, something needs to change.

That is what happens when you are trying to break through a glass ceiling.
We are doing fine as long as we keep aiming upwards and onwards.

Is this squad actually as good as it's made out to be though?

It was more 2 steps sideways, 1 back, 3 sideways, 1 forward and repeat!

Attacking movement 101 AVB style.

If I remember my arithmetic, what you are really saying is that:

We are going one step back, really.

Well that's no good, is it? Maths is obviously our problem and is shit.

Don't you have it the wrong way round?

It's been a recurring story of two steps forward, one step back, surely?

Under Levy, we have steadily improved as a club. We've had setbacks in that time, certainly. But the overall direction of the club has been onwards and upwards. And but for two other clubs winning the lottery, we'd have been even further on and up.

Absolutely, if we started with mid table mediocrity and have gone one step forward two steps back surely we would have been relegated by now!
