I was there at Wembley

Gazza was fantastic through the whole cup run - at Portsmouth we were beaten losing 1-0 on a dodgy pitch home crowd baying, us playing poorly - Gazza turned it around scored both goals in a 2-1 he had already raised the team against Notts County where we were heading to a replay he scored a cracker

The semi final was a great day as ever finiished in Sams down the high road to the sound of Rock the Casbah 'fuck the Arsenal '

And there - Gazza won us that game - one nil down hat HT if I remember right ?

What a day that was! Kept falling off the red plastic slab that was supposed to be my seat. Everyone in the front rows stood on them for 90 mins. Brilliant performance, brilliant team, brilliant support

I'm 40 now, I can actually remember where I was on that day at the time the game was getting played. I was playing for my local boys club, my dad was giving me updates by nipping back to the car to tune into the radio for updates. Days before modern technology

I was playing rugby (urggh) for my town until half time and had the match recording on video and my parents under orders to tell me nothing. However I accidentally heard it was 2-0 (I can't remember how) and had to watch the first half knowing that we'd score. Obviously nothing prepared me for the goal though and I replayed it for years afterwards

I would have been wearing a nappy, presumably shitting myself. So not too much different to what I do now when watching Spurs.
