Is this the FBI rounding up Blatters minions to get dirt on him do you think? I have a good feeling about this and I bet Blatter is shitting bricks.

Gotta say, that headline seems a bit of a letdown now.

The BBC have changed it to 6 officials arrested, still pretty serious stuff, especially with the FIFA elections due this week.

We can all live in hope that:
A) Some of the corruption leads to Qatar and that they cancel the WC there and rellocate.
B) That this signals a massive shake up at FIFA.

It's not even like they try to hide their corruption. It's really obvious the whole organisation is rotten to its core

Corrupt wankers, they think there untouchable.
The USA can forget about holding any future tourneys, but kudos to them for taking this bunch out.

Presidents of CONCACAF and CONMEBOL, both FIFA Vice-presidents, arrested.

Sounds like US will exert pressure to go even higher...

About time. Hopefully this leads to Blatter getting banged up. So corrupt it's a joke

I wonder if the vote will still go ahead now.

Part of me wants it to in the hope that these arrests shift some people away from Blatter, but part of me thinks it should be postponed so the investigation can continue, at which point surely something has to link to Blatter himself.

Either way the organisation is clearly a complete disgrace. No idea if the bloke from Jordan is any better, but just getting the game out of Blatter's hands has to be a step in the right direction.

More trouble for Fifa?

Swiss legal authorities have announced that criminal proceedings have opened "against persons unknown on suspicion of criminal mismanagement and of money laundering in connection with the allocation of the 2018 and 2022 football World Cups".

Electronic data and documents have been seized from Fifa's head office in Zurich.

The latest from Press Association's Martyn Ziegler is that 10 Fifa members who took part in the vote for the 2018-2022 World Cups are to be questioned by Swiss police.

Some sources among officials from the 209 associations who are gathering in Zurich ahead of Friday's Congress said Blatter is actively lobbying to have Friday's election postponed due to the crisis, though that will be opposed by Prince Ali.

You know FIFA is corrupt when fans of the sport it represents are pleased its getting its name dragged through the mud.
