Both City and Arsenal didn't take advantage of us ourselves fucking it up yesterday but I am just wondering whether it is a relief that we didn't lose as much ground as expected or even more frustrating that we didn't win yesterday to stretch a gap before they complete their games in hand?

I only saw the second half of the Arsenal game but just when I was thinking that they looked like genuine title contenders they let a pretty awful West Ham side back in easily- for me it was a pen given away in a stupid position and even if it were not, it was a clear penalty moments before. Also, Parker shouldn't have been sent off.

You're not allowed swear words in the title.

It's frustration for me. I wouldn't mind as much we lost to someone like Everton or even Stoke away, but I fully expected to win yesterday. Hopefully those points won;t come back to haunt us.

Well i said to a friend that WHAM are due a result and that is a result given Arsenal's form.

Its the way the league is going this year, and why we should FORGET Stoke and be looking for minimum of a point at the Emirates.

Also I am not gonna laugh cos we have been 3-0 and f-ed it up a few times

How about frustrated that we didn't take advantage but relieved that it didn't cost us as much as it could.

For me the Arsenal result wasn't as important as I believe they will be in the top two/three anyway, but Villa, ManC, Sunderland etc dropping points was good. Liverpool (the weak link in the top 4) beating ManU was a blow.

I'm not too fussed about the Stoke loss. Yes it was dissapointing and frustrating but it was one game. I was pleased with the City and Arsenal results though. Its very tight in the top 7 now. A win against Arsenal would send us above them. But we could drop to about 7th with a loss. Its a long season ahead. The sooner we get Modric back the better.

Agree with Kendall, you really do have to beat Stoke at home.

Although Utd lost to Burnley away :)

Still, it softens the blow a tiny bit, but we could have been sitting much prettier had we beaten them, I fear we may regret this result, and shame on the spurs fans saying Defoe's petulance was nothing..

I disagree. If you are title challengers, you have to beat Stoke at home. If you're aiming for top 6, you should beat Stoke at home. But there will be a few games you should win, but lose. As long as it doesn't happen too often in a season. It was a one off. If we lose to say Hull and Portsmouth at Home aswell then there is a problem. But it was a one off. We are not the best, so it will happen unfortunately.

Burnley away will be one of the toughest games for most clubs and I was surprised Wigan did so well there.

Stoke away... I could just about deal with, but Stoke at home is unnacceptable. It simply does not happen to the best clubs.

And we're not the best club :-(

It'll be interesting to see if the Burnley away game will be important or not for us. Last game of the season, it could be a meaningless game or one that decides our fate one way or another. But i'd rather we play them away during that time of year. Would hate to play them in the Winter weather.

I understand what you are saying Kendall and if we'd played badly and they had given us a game and if we were lucky to get away with a few scares (as at Pompey) then I'd gree 100% the truth is however that we had lots of chances to score and however well they defended with a do or die attitude they did ride their luck and they scored with their only shot on goal.

People often say we won't make the top four this year as it's too soon which shouldn't make any sense, surely if we are good enough then we will do it; yesterday though was an example of what they mean. Arsenal, Chelsea & Man Utd would very likely have broken down the 10 man defence as they have had to face it for years but for us it's new and we have to learn to deal with it, it will come with experience and hopefully sooner rather than later.
Actually I guess unless that 's probably what you mean Kendall.

You have to take your chances though WS. When did that last happen to United, Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea?

They don't tend to get beaten at home full stop, let alone by Stoke.

I can handle getting beaten by United and Chelsea, but if we're being talked about as top 4 contenders we need to be beating teams like Stoke on our own ground. Our failure to score despite the chances only serves as a reminder that we are far from the top 4.

You are right Kendall, I'm just pointing out that its not the end of the world, especially since some results went in our favour :)

Home to Stoke, fucking joke tbh.

Thats just the way the cookie crumbles guys. Not many thought we would have got 3 points from L'Pool.
I know this may sound a bit silly but I would rather beat L'Pool and lose to Stoke the only problem for me is that it was a home game and really we should be looking to win or at least draw our home games

We're going to beat Arsenal on Sunday. That would be so typical of Spurs.

I'd rather thet hadn't messed up at Wham because now I think they'll be smarting.
They are not unbeatable however.
