Our last 6 league victories have all been 2-1. To me this says that we're struggling to put teams away while still giving away goals, but doing just enough to get the win.

I know it's stating the obvious but we really really need to start getting more clinical.

I think it's more of the same of the indication from last season, that we have the excess in quality over these sides but they don't find it difficult to exploit our weaknesses. We haven't even really dominated many of these games, we've just managed to rely on quality in and around the box to find the net. We are effectively limping towards a real checkpoint in improvement, and we either need a) a massive understanding throughout the team to occur, or b) some personnel improvement.

i worry for our teams mental health sometimes

play really well and end up getting totally stuffed (against City and chelski)
play like drongos and yet win 2-1 (too many to count)

wtf would you do when next on the pitch...

It also shows that we have much greater fitness levels and we are coming good at the end when the other team waivers. Most if not all of those victories it was 1-1 rather than 2-0

You could say that, you could also say we are grinding out results while not playing well, which is a positive.

That is not clear evidence to show we have better fitness levels

Two of the matches involved had players sent off

You can use the exact same logic and say that Pochettino had the worst fitness levels in the PL at southampton since they conceded more late goals than anyone else

To be honest, this is a really good point on a matter that's been brought up a lot recently, even by the players.

Another lucky result today. We could and if being impartial should have lost that. Dredding the next 2 games, could be embarrassing.

Fact: 9.4% of EPL games end in 2-1, and 5.8% 1-2, so roughly on in 6 and 1/2 games ends in one of these scorelines.

There's some over-analyzed stats to sink in. Just like looking into scoreline patterns deeply, in general, it's rather useless.

After a quick head count the last 13 times we have gone 1 goal ahead in the premier league we haven't gone on to make it two.

Less than 10% on its own is uncircumstantial, but when you multiple that times another 0.1 five times then the resultant number is absolutely indicative of a pattern worth considering IMO.

This is the difference between top sides and us. Football at this level, even when playing the worst side in the league, is all about momentum shifts. The goal taking the lead is good but to truly cement our dominance, we need that second goal. As poor as we played today, we had multiple chances in the first half to make it 2-0. If Bentaleb doesn't take such a heavy touch, we're two goals up and more comfortable.

A win is a win, and three points are three points, but we must become more clinical. Our defense and transitional play is not good enough to consistently play like this and win.

We're still playing with a new manager, in a World Cup year (where Poch had so little time with the squad) and are only now, at Christmas, getting an indication Poch knows his first XI. I have high faith that, after Christmas, we'll click and start turning these 2-1s into 2 and 3-0s. That we've ground out so many shaky wins is a good sign IMO. If it continues until May, it will be a worry, but let's see what Poch can do in the second half of the season.

Why is everyone's default position negative regardless of the events? Look at the op, not even looking at the fact that we've won games when they could have easily been draws and losses.

Can we not celebrate something positive for a change?

No we must not, for we are spurs fans, thou shall not celebrate victory unless by a 5-0 scoreline and be playing fantastic football all at once. If we win not by this, then moaning shall commence and rightfully so.
